We are inviting entries again for the Jubilee Triples competition at the Tarring Club on Saturday 12th November. Approx 11.30am start.
We are looking to get 16 threesomes, 48 players - 4 groups of 4. Entry fee is £3 per player.
This competition is open to everyone, in or outside the Worthing League, so please bring your friends & family along, it is a fun competition after all ;D
Obviously, if there is an avalanche of entries, it is first come first served.
I will be printing some entry forms up to spread around the area.

Hi everyone, I know that quite a few of you were in Jersey at the weekend, but I must get some entries in for the Triples this coming saturday. At the moment, there are 3 of us. Unless we have at least 24 names (8 triples), I will call the competition off :(

Great shame apathy showed a lack of support for trying to run this competition and raise funds for the league, with only 20 people there we turned it into a fun doubles on the same format as the trebles. Two sets of palyers and A and B group with draw to decide partners. Then two leagues of five all play each other, winner and runner up into the semi finals. Two frames with the number two players taking the breaks in all games, even break first frame and when bar drops pull bar and continue play without the balls coming back.
Group A winners Neil Higgins and Mark Senior, runners up Alan Messer and Dave Collins, Group B winners Paul Barnett and Dave Jones runners up Dave Ingram and Pete Hickman. Final Neil and Mark v Alan and Dave Winners Alan and Dave.
Thanks to KT for running the day, Dave jones and KT for doing the tables and to those who bothered to support the league, without these events we will have to raise the entry fees, so lets hope there is less apathy for the quiz on 24th Novenber at Tarring Club.

A very enjoyable day, many thanks to KT for his hard work in running the competition, Dave Jones for helping to set the tables up and the Tarring Club for their hospitality on the day. ;) Congratulations to Alan and Dave on their victory on a day with plenty of competitive games but all played in a truly friendly spirit with lots of laughs... great fun. 8-)

I hear a few people saying "we didn`t know anything about it". Well, those of you that don`t use the proboards would have had e`mails, and it certainly was on the front page of the last Black Peg. So no excuses then. If you don`t want to have fundraising events to keep the League going, then just say at the next AGM. Out of the 7 lower division teams, there were only 4 entries out of the 20 that bothered to enter, 2 of the players were from another league. So what about the rest of you ??? Another member in a phone call on the day said, "perhaps there are too many competitions" ??? I don`t think so, do you? We run the Off the Spot comp the day after the Masters and the Triples. Surely that isn`t too many. All the League comps are played in the evenings and the quizzes are also on set nights. A pretty negative statement don`t you think :P I had to take a day off to run this competition, next time i might think twice :-X :-/
