Greyhound 3 Cock 2
Peter 3990 Steve 3240 Paul 3120 Chris 1170 Geoff 200 Jan 2480 Trevor 3760 Ben 1880 Neil 1680 Adam 1760
Just scraped a win against the Cock (Nearly a Cock up)
Peter won a close game against Steve Paul won a steady game against Chris Geoff lost to Jan who played a great game I won against Ben despite throwing a 3K break Neil lost to Adam who won with a 200 shot which might have injured someone if it had not been dead on.
If the Cock play like this they can be a threat to anyone. My advice is beware the rampant Cock.

Mill House Z 4, Horns Lodge 1
Johnny Haigh 1850, Kevin Stevens 2300 Barry Timson 3790, Chris Farrow 1640 Alan Downs 5000, Jim McClenn 650 Graham Daniels 5330, Dave Tiffin 890 Clive Thompson 4100, Ron Sheridan 760
really weird last game, Ron was bored into submission by tommo resorting to 50-hole play and nothing much else, after neither of us could get the break back.
Good apres-match discussions with the Horns staying around for a knockabout afterwards, Fenella displaying some good skills. 8-)
[edit - name correction, apologies to Fenella]

Eight Bells 4 St Francis 1 Trevor Appleby | 1510 | Chris Little* | 2100 | Tony Driver* | 2470 | Bob Ellis | 930 | Ros Appleby | 1490 | Roger Wallbank* | 920 | Neil Higgins* | 8160 | Peter Geal | 550 | Rob Driver | 2760 | Shaun Morris* | BP |

Trevor opened up an early lead, but was unable to do much after that. Chris scored steadily to overtake him. Both players started slowly in the second, but Tony did well to clear the balls and score a nice 1.2k break to take control of the second. The third was the proverbial "scrappy leg". I was holding on to a narrow lead until Roger potted the red into the 200 to jump ahead - this concentrated my mind for me and I scored a bit better in my last couple of visits to take the frame. Neil opened up with 1k, then quickly added a 4.5k to give Peter little chance. Finally Neil played the bar out with 2.5k Shaun pegged his opening break. Rob was the first to get the break back and he quickly opened up a decent lead. This was eroded by a late fight back from Shaun, but he broke down 1000 short just before the bar. He fell on his sword with the black on the last ball. Nice company and a good Chicken curry made it a pleasant evening. :)

COCK STIFFER THAN(opposition)EXPECTED
Not much to add to TIR report except an enjoyable evening in a nice pub against a nice team. I must apologise if Adam damaged the table with his rocket 200 shot. He has now won 3 games on the 200 shot.Is this becoming a record

Penny = Fenella I second that, the last game I was bored into submission ;D Have to say I have never seen anyone play the 50 as well as you did :) Good night with the Z'ds and lovely pizza and chips to finish the evening off. Roll on the new year to see if we can get ourselves off the bottom of Div 1 :-/ Happy xmas everyone........

Plough PG 3 Hurst B 2
Richard Todd 1540 Darrell 2160 Darren Newnham 2790 Paul Jobbins 4640 Jan Bithall 4950 Chris Kirkham 3950 Dave Knight 4830 Steve King 1210 Chase Newnham 3430 Iang 1840
After going 2 up all looked good but Plough pulled it back level. Good scrap between Jan & Chris Chris was well in front before Jan got break going. Steve not getting going. bringing it to the decider & despite miscuing my 2nd break shot I managed to stay in front of Chase upto 15 mins in he was having a few pegs but then got the break back & left me 500 behind with the bar dropped.
Thanks for a good night & some awsome sarnies & chips. ;D

Two reports to complete the week, courtesy of the OldFella:
Hurst A 4 Brewers Bravos 1 Pete Hall managed to lose 7K before finally coming good to beat Nikki Hinkins for leg number 1, this being followed by a 6K from Lorraine Hall who was too good for Paul M-R. Jenny Edwards felt the heat of a scorching 11K from Bravo to stop the Hurst roller coaster but Rob Hall made the match for the home side, scoring 6K against Lynne M-R. The last leg also went to Hurst with a Peter Edwards 5K put past Piers O’Sullivan.
Brewers Arms 3 Laughing Fish 2 This defeat means the Fish now share bottom place while the Arms still challenge for honours in second spot. Andy Brooks took the first frame from a returning Dilly Williamson but the score was levelled as Jock Jeffrey beat Les Whiteman to take frame 2. The Farmer outpointed Jamie Hall to put the Arms into the lead and a 5K from David Page was enough to beat a determined effort from Keith Fantom. Ray Carpenter took a second point for the visitors beating Derek Taylor in the last.
