Congratulations to The Redhill League on your Diamond Jubilee, what plans have you got to celebrate any thing special. The Horsham League Celebrates it's Diamond Jubilee next year & are discussing what to do. We are hoping to conatct as many former players & committee members for an evening of fun. Please let me know what you come up with. Ian.

Congrats to Redhill on your diamond jubilee, lets hope its a memorable season to celebrate. Ties in with owning your own tables and what should put the league on a footing to go from strength to strength. Who is the longest standing player and how long have they been playing. Are they playing for their original team.

Thanks guys for your interest. It hardly seems 10 years since Redhill celebrated their Golden Jubilee, it was all a new adventure for our (Black Dog) team then, and I remember that Simon Tinto (whose birthday it happens to be today - Happy Birthday Simon ! -published volume called "A 50 Year History of the Redhill League". And I think there was also a mass order of T-Shirts commissioned to mark the event.
Are we planning anything special ? Well, I suppose you could call the "1st Surrey Open" (next May) special. And at our last committee meeting we were discussing a germ of an idea about what we could use the other day that we have the tables at the venue for. So we are being pro-active on this front but still have much to discuss.
To answer TJ, our player of longest service is George Stevens, who has been playing 50+ years and received a special award in recognition of this, the season-before-last. He can still play a good game and I saw him run up a 10,000 score a few seasons ago at the Frenches Club. His son Trevor and daughter-in-law Sue are both handy players.

Thanks for that Clive, it is always interesting to learn some history and see that our great game is still played after many years by one member and that the interest is passed to later generations. Tony.

Simon did do a history of the league, I still have my copy, we also had tee shirts printed and yes I still have mine, we also ran a fun bar billiards comp at the Royal Earlswood Hospital Club and I remember Brian Soper and Benny Fuler playing in drag.

Sorry Kevin and Mama, Knew I had the card somewhere and only just found it (cracking up !)
Frenches Club A 3, South Park CC B 2
Karl Tidy 10,810, Dave Snashfold 1660 Sue Oakley 3870, BB Reaper 5600 Paul Wood 3570, tommo 2660 Karen Bacchus 1720, Mama Hall 3320 Terry Oakley 10,360, Paul Trottman 3450
Quite eventful this one, as all games were won AGAINST the break ! Mama Hall won on her debut, coping well with a really fast Frenches top. And the two scores in the final frame were from single visits. Terry Oakley is in sparkling form and I've witnessed him score 20k in the space of 3 days without missing a shot. :o

Well done my lovely team - Snashie very kindly kept me updated as the night went on. Sounds like a great night.
Welcome to the team Lorraine. I'm sorry I missed your debut but I'm sure you wouldn't have fancied catching chicken pox from Callum!!!!! :P
Very well done on your first win in the Surrey league. Hopefully Mick and I will see you next week.

Hi Josie,
Nice to hear from you. I would imagine you'll get a call-up on 4th November, as neither Kev nor myself can make it then: Kev is going to Jersey early, and - after all I've said about them - I'm being taken out that night for a slap-up Indian Curry on the firm. :-*
