Penultimate league match of the season......
Holland Sports AC 2, South Park Constitutional Club B 3
Tony Cross 2730, Mr Reaper 6360 David Pedelham 610, tommo 2900 Dave Timlin 4430, Paul Trottman 1800 David Waller 1550, Mama 'BIOC Champ' Hall 2440 John Timlin Sr. 1670, Dave Snashfold 1040
This was a strange match played on a not-bad table that it was just difficult to settle down on. All games were won against the break except the Chunky Monkey's. :o

Match report from last night (Merstham VC B v Flying Scud A) - Simon Tinto the author................
SCUD BREAK RAT CAUGHT RED-HANDED – EVENTUALLY!!!
Ever heard the one about a game when both players had the opening break? Well, it happened at Merstham Village Club on 7th April when Cliff Wayland (Flying Scud A) was approaching 2,000 in the 4th game before anyone noticed that it should actually have been Frank Doyle’s break!
From the Scud’s point of view there’s nothing unusual about seeing Cliff motoring along (he was, after all, only the second Redhill League player ever to score 20,000 in match-play – the legendary Alf Hunnisett got there first), but you’d think the officials might have noticed something was wrong. However, it seems that referee Bud Abbott was half asleep and scorer Colin Robbins was half awake, or was it the other way round? It’s sometimes hard to tell with those two, but be absolutely fair to them, Bud and Colin have been playing Bar Billiards for not much more than a combined total of 60 (sixty!) seasons between them, so they can hardly be expected to have anything other than a tentative grip on the rules. What about Frank? He’s an extremely courteous character and all-round good egg in my opinion, but there are times, Frank, when you just have to stand up and be counted. Instead it was Cliff being counted!
The matter was resolved, amid much hilarity, by restarting the game and reverting to the original agreement, introduced only very recently in 1948, under which the home player has the break in the 4th game. It was also unanimously agreed that Cliff should provide a second coin, although a full set of socket spanners and several pairs of pliers were needed to extract it from him. And then later on, in an act of craven betrayal, Cliff tried blaming it all on Simon for advising him to be bold! Yes – I meant bold, Cliff, but not that bloody bold!

maybe Tommo ther should be a point deduction for trying to gain an unfair advantage :o :o lol ;D
South Park Con Club A 4 The Old Oak 1
DC beat Richard 7300 - 970 Silverfox Beat Nick 6540 - 2740 Laurie lost to Budgie 2700 - 6510 Andy Beat Martin 7000 - 2580 Vern Beat Richard again 6800 - 2700
Scores are approx as don`t have the result card as I usually do ::)
Flying Scud won 3-2 at MVC B so with only one game left one point divides the top two. However the Flying Scud have a better away points advantage!!
