I found an old photo of a bar billiard table and players in an annual report of Springbok from 1973.
Does anyone recall ever playing at Springbok in those early days. I am interested in getting some background on whether they played in the league, any players etc.
Scanned photo is too large to attach, unless someone can advise how to reduce the file size?
Thank you

Hi Trevor, File sizes are 4000 x 4000 when downloaded from a standard digital camera. Thumbnail size (to make work on an Avatar) needs to go down to 100 x 100 pixels. You should have a 'photo edit - resize' facility somewhere on your computer (My Pics ?) For a decent-sized photo on here, 400 x 400 is about right, but an attachment might not work and you may have to have the picture 'hosted' by a website such as Tiny Pics. Springbok were never in the league until recently as far as I know, and my records go back to 1970. The Three Compasses were a dominant force round about then (J.Thayre, P.Thayre, P.Barnett, B.Picking, R.Wheeler) and the Crown was the only other Alfold team around at the time. www.billingshurstbarbilliards.co.uk/page46.html

Cheers Clive
I was aware of the Three Compasses History, and did suspect Springbok may not have been in the league before. Was interesting to find the photo though and once I suss out how to reduce it will post it for interest.
