Sorry to the guys, but The Bib A cannot play tonight as we cannot put out a full team. More than happy to rearrange or if at worse forfeit.
Once again, very sorry for this late call.
My phone no 07934 216754.

Great night at West Hill last night. Kevin S beat Terry M 1-0 Tupps pegged his opening break but hey anything he can do!!! 2-0 Geoff and Micky had an extremely close macth with Digger one shot away from winning 2-1 Colin Smith gave Terry R a chance and that was all that was needed 2-2 Terry C was off early but then came back well against Dave 2-3.
Excellent company, excellent food (Romans take note), and excellent beer (Romans take note).

Cheers to the Wellie for a great night, loads of pizza, footy on tv, plenty of banter and loads of noise. It was like a proper old school away game with a hostile environment, reminded me of Millwall or Cardiff away. Keep up the good work guys and think about changing your name to Galatasary Wellington next year with a banner saying " Welcome to Hell ! ". Look forward to seeing you at the quiz or if not before.

Postponed Matches / Outstanding Results Blue Lagoon v Duke of Wellington (Postponed from 09/11/2011) Blue Lagoon v Romans (Postponed from 25/01/2012) Albion v Blue Lagoon (Match not played on 22/02/2012) Blue Lagoon v Bib & Tucker B (Match not played on 29/02/2012) Looking at the rest of the games, as said before there simply isn't enough weeks left to play all these games unless the teams are willing to play another night which is always going to be a long shot as 10 people need to commit. We request to play the Romans at our place on the 28th March as neither of us are still in the KO cup. As the Albion are in the Cup, we will have to concede that one and for similar reasons the Bib B are in the plate final therefore they will have to concede to us. This leaves the game vs the Wellie, if they win their Cup semi final game then we will have to concede that game but should they lose, we request we play them on 9th May (KO Final night).

These are decisions that need to be made by the Committee, but rather than either claiming or conceding games I am sure it would be better to try and re-arrange them, even if it does involve playing the matches on another night. Enzo, can I suggest that you try to speak directly to the Captains of the other teams to try to sort out new dates for the matches to be played as not everybody involved regularly go on to the Forum and therefore they may not be aware of your proposal.... ;) I understand that the Committee are due to meet on Sunday evening to discuss the situation, so if you were able to resolve matters before then it could make it easier for everybody involved. 8-)

I understand that the Committee are due to meet on Sunday evening to discuss the situation, so if you were able to resolve matters before then it could make it easier for everybody involved. 8-) Yes the committee are meeting on Sunday, my dad's on it so he'll be able to update me but I don't see any harm in attempting to arrange any outstanding games, we don't need a committee decision on that unless someone has objected which is clearly the case. I have already said we're more than happy to forfeit the match(es) if a team(s) needs it that badly. It's very unsporting but they have every right to if we don't turn up with a team. The only thing the committee can do is create new dates for us to play and push back the quiz and/or the finals night but that's not going to happen for obvious reasons.

I would have thought that you would know them. ::)

Rules B18 and B19 are the appropriate ones.... I would have thought that you would know them. ::) Rule 18: The rule states 3 consecutive games or 2 consecutive away games. We are not in breach of this rule, but instead the Bib & Tucker B are. I'm sure in the interest of the league this team will not be considered as withdrawn from the league. Rule 19: You just partially proved my point, 'All fixtures, irrespective of the foregoing, must be completed by the last date allotted to League fixtures within the season' Therefore the onus is on the teams to complete the matches by the end of the season regardless of what the committee decides, at which point it can then be decided by the committee after the match has been played whether or not the matches will count or not. Yes the same rule does state that the committee have to grant permission to postpone a game and agree a date... so they could overrule the result but this would be very unsporting and pathetically counter-productive. I'm sure this will be accepted for similar reasons as the above regarding the Bib B team.
