Excellent evening, lots of chat - and not all about bar billiards. (Margo's quote to Ding "All cats are grey in the dark" raised a chuckle.) Thanks to mine host Chippy for some excellent fare - sandwiches with generous fillings (ham and pickle, mature cheddar), vegetable samosas, and breaded mushrooms (yummy!) :P

Word out of the Twiglet packet is..... Holbrook won 3-2 @ Stout A Twiggy's discarded packet had sufficient left in to spell out the following, according to Ian: A win for Holbrook Club at The Stout House keep them in 4th place. Stout’s Dave Howlett took the first while Sam Jones continues good form to equalise. Stuart Carruthers had a close call in the 3rd but Holbrook edged ahead & Steve Hopkins made sure for the match. Glyn Owen gained Stout’s second point.

........and the other three:
Crawley Club 2, Roffey Club Y 3 Crawley Club play their last home match at the Club before it closes the door for the last time so it was fitting it was against the League Champions. Again the first leg was a flyer this time it was Steve King who had the upper hand against Mick Fairs. Dick Cable had close fought game over Chris Kirkham & a 9.7k from Peter Gibbs put the champs in front for the first time, Rick Langidge didn’t let up in the 4th for the match. Alan Downs won the last.
Plough 3, Southwater SC 2 Plough take a home win but are stuck at the bottom Southwater’s Gordon Ling had a narrow win in the first, likewise for Matt Senior but at 2-0 down Plough had it all to do & who better than Mark Webber up next to start the fight back Geoff Parsons win against Tom Darkins made it 2 all. A tense decider saw Steve Vizor defeat Jeff Raine by just 70 points.
Roffey Club B 2, Windmill B 3 Windmill B came away from Roffey Club with the win against the B’s Mike Lennon lost out to a 6k from Darren Newnham. The next 2 went to Windmill as Barry Dumbrill & a 5k from Steve Eely to go in front. Roffey’s Jim Greensted forced the decider with a 5k over Gary Cresswell. Dave Lennon hit a big 7k against Rob Hall for the match.
(Many thanks to Ian for these, gleaned from his weekly report.)
