We are pleased to announce that the Mill House table now has a permanent location indoors. 8-)
It is staying in the same bar but has been rotated 180 degrees. Part of the seating has been cut away so it can fit into a recess. I have seen the new arrangement (just been down there to level it up again after the move) and it's a much better arrangement all round.
No more moving the table in and out for League night with it never having a chance to settle ! 8-)
The room will still be shared with the darts team which means Monday nights will have to be avoided for any cup games, but the table now has a smart locking cover to protect the baize when not in use.
This of course means that there is at last somewhere to go in Crawley to have a practice session. Passing trade is welcome, just have a word behind the bar and say you are a 'player' and they'll remove the top for you. Usual bar billiards etiquette applies of slapping a coin down to book the next game, but it will remain on freeplay - so that can't be bad can it ?

Since the visit of the USC, a log has been kept of the House Record on our magnificent acquisition from Sav. ;D It continues to go from strength to strength as you will see.......... 02/09/09 GrahamDaniels 7800 02/09/09 Henry Brooks 8180 02/09/09 BB Warrior 9740 09/09/09 tommo 9840 16/09/09 MrMike 007 11070 22/09/09 BigJimSilverFox 13170 15/09/10 tommo 14480 08/04/13 Ricky Dewdney 15000 Jim reckons there's a 20k possible on it for the right player with the break. ;) I am informed that Ricky has set up a new House record, last night, shown above. And apparently he lost another 2k on top ![edit - 05/11/13 tommo 0, Lloydy 19,730 in league match Mill House v Roffey Club Y * Gareth's score and break all the more impressive as our table only runs 17 minutes ! I don't mind scoring a BFZ if the table is going to reward my efforts in preparation by playing so well.] * This proved to be the all time record, as the Mill House closed its doors for good on 31/12/13. Table now esconsed in our home, the one it replaced having been sent away to Sav for refurbishment and destined for the Windmill Gossops Green upon its return....
