Limeburners could have blown their promotion with that result. Before tonight Limeburners had 62pts, Windmill B 61pts and Crawley Club 59pts.
But Limeburners have now finished their programme, and will be looking for champions Roffey Y to do them a favour next week when they entertain Windmill B at home.

Stout BB 3-2 Crawley Club
Sam 2350 - 1530 Steve (Sam played a blinder & lost as many points as scored) Pete 1860 - 3130 Darrell Dick 4350 - 1800 Derek (Dick had a couple of reasonable breaks to take this after a cagey start) Ricky 6110 - 1840 Chris (A lazy 4k break mid game by Ricky put the match in the bag) Adam BP - 2370 Alan (sluggish game, Adam needed 700 with the bar down - Red in 200... TIMBER!!!)

Word on the street from Windmill Way was..... Windmill B won 4-1 last night -v- Holbrook Club :o Congratulations to Windmill B who have earned promotion to Div.1 with that win. One more point next week will win them the title, however they visit the Champions ! :o Crawley Club need two points from their last match to finish runners-up at the expense of Limeburners - and in doing so would condemn Plough to relegation. A strange situation has occurred in Division One, where the postponed fixture (Roffey Club B v Dun Horse) could mean everything or nothing.....Stout House BB and Mill House both managed mid-table safety last night, but neither team can catch second place. By contrast, Dun Horse could still mathematically go down but could also finish runners-up if all results go in their favour: The visit of Mill House next Tuesday will decide whether or not there is any premium on that postponed game.

I don't like your maths Tommo ;D With Dun Horse, Mill House, & Stout House BB fighting over 3rd place the last week is all important & The potponed match could well be the deciding factor. Limeburners are on 63 & Crawley Club are on 61 so Crawley Club would need 3 points from their last match V The Plough. But this is being pushed to the spare week so we will have to wait for the outcome of that one.

Nothing wrong with my (A level) maths, Ian. >:(
Stout BB and t'Mill finish mid-table as both are on 63 points and can't a) catch Roffey B (already on 69 points) or b) be caught by Stout A (max.poss. 63pts with fewer wins) or Plough (max.poss. 60pts).
By contrast, Dun Horse (61pts) could overtake Roffey with big wins against Mill House and in the postponed game v Roffey B. But they could also finish below Stout A if Stout get maximum points from their last two and our lads give you a sound thrashing on Tuesday !
But Roffey B only have to manage a win on Tuesday at bottom club Windmill A and it's all over (as they would have 72pts), and the postponed game would count for diddley-squat. ;D

I'm not questioning your arithmatic just the bit whhere you say we could go down ;D ;D Roffey B have all but sown up runner up spot but 3rd place is still wide open & that's why I say that the postponed match is still important & not diddly squat.
If Stout House A get max points that only puts them on 63 meaning we would only need 2 from 2 matches to finnish above them.

3rd place is still wide open & that's why I say that the postponed match is still important & not diddly squat. No cigar for third place.........and in the case that the Dun fail to beat the Mill next Tuesday, you would be six behind Roffey B anyway so the postponed game would only be academic in that circumstance too. :P

I deduce from your repeat of that statement that you know the 'missing' result of the Stout House A game and are reluctant to share it with the rest of us. ;)
And, "we only need two points from the last two games" does not count as being mathematically certain of safety, Ian. ;D ;D

No I don't have the result yet.
Correct 3 points from last 2 matches to be safe if Stout House A win 5-0 twice :o
Thats without an A Level :P

The final weeks fixtures are Stout House A - Stout House BB This might have been a worry, with nothing on it for the BB's. But I can't see any collusion here, knowing the teams involved I'm sure the BB's would take great delight in sending their stablemates down ! ;)
