Not wishing to Bray about our performance BUT despite making an Ass of myself we Mule'red the 'Z's tonight.
Darrell and Ian put us 2 up, I then dangled a Carrot to Barry and he needed no second bidding, Tommo made it 2 all before John played a captains game putting the 'Z's out to Pasture.... 3-2
Me, I played like a Donkey

The once-mighty Zeds were humbled tonight, with the 'other' Handcross team taking the honours. And yet everything was in favour of the champions: three breaks on their home table, and being the 'away' team for the evening, not having to provide scorers, table money or sandwich money.
An early blow was dealt for the home side in the form of Darrell Skinner winning well against the break, which did not bode well for tommo's prophecy of it being 2-all and all on the last game.
The next two went with the break, Ian G overturning an early deficit to beat MrMike007, and Barry Timson playing very determinedly to deny Q who just couldn't get going.
This spurred tommo on, and even more so due to an incompetent bit of marking. So the prophecy was true after all, and Zed hopes rested on "Mr Reliable" Alan Downs with first break. But it was not to be, as John Lear, newly-inspired from the recent Jersey experience, played with confidence to secure the result for the A's who now have a 3-point advantage - and with other teams like the Plough and the Greyhound doing well you could say any aspirations the Zeds might have had of retaining the title have disappeared in a puff of smoke.
Oh, and the donkey must have eaten all the food 'cos there wasn't any. >:( Mental cruelty I call it. ;D
Handcross SC A 3, Handcross Z 2.
Darrell Skinner 6160, John Turner 1360 IanG 2700, MrMike007 2060 Q 2310, Barry Timson 4500 Chris Kirkham 1050, tommo 6100 John 'King' Lear 4650, Alan Downs 2400
Well done to the better team on the night.

Report from Roy Wells: Plough went to Keymer this week hoping to consolidate their position at the top for the Christmas break but it didn’t happen. Paul Good win and big hitting Peter Burchell got the home side off to a flying start before Geoff parsons pegged one back for plough. That was their lot as Chris Watson hit big in the fourth and Neil Burchell put in the best score of the week to take the match and the top spot. The A Team were at home to the Zeds and widened the gap between the two sides with a solid display. Dazza took the first against the break with a big hit followed by a win for Ian Giffen to put the A’s two up. Barry Timson grabbed one back and a big hit for Clive Thompson saw the tie levelled at two apiece. Cap’n John Lear won the decider and moved his teams three points above the Zeds. Hurst entertained the Vees for this last game of the first half which saw the visitors take an early lead for Gary Foster. Roy Wells pulled it back to one all and Rob hall pushed the home side into a one leg lead. Pete Hall stopped his losing streak to hit big and win the fourth and the match. Gordon Brett then won an exciting last frame to take an important second point. Droops took on a robust Kleiners at the Burgess Hill venue and lost the first with a win for the visitor’s Derek Taylor. The home captain,Andy Framer-Wright put it straight by winning the second only to see Ted Stringer put the visitors ahead again. Adam Bateup evened things up again with a win in the fourth but Kleiners skipper Peter Edwards won the last leg to nil to put his team 3.1/2 points clear at the top of division 1. Saints moved nearer to the White Horse in the table after beating them at home this week. Once again it was the visitors who won the first, thanks to John Ruffle, and Mick Joplin had to play catch-up by winning the next. Ian Turner put the Horse back into the lead only to see it wiped out by matt Geal who took the fourth frame. It needed a win for Peter Geal in the last to win the tie and bank the points The Watermill stayed in touch with Saints after a home win over the luckless Windmill but we have no details.
