Has it been noted that the last round of interleague clashes with the Portsmouth Mermaid Open so a lot of I/L player will not be available ?? I expect a lot of matches will have to be rearranged. Ian.

True Ian, Half of Redhill A will be going to Pompey and wouldn't relish an Interleague away to Worthing B on the same Sunday night. I suppose Monday remains an option, though Redhill certainly seem to prefer playing on a Sunday to a Monday.

Unfortunate that the two events coincide but not really avoidable by SCBBA planners and date setters. Inerleague schedules were set well in advance of the Mermaid daes being announced. If Dave Jones is able to change the schedule I am sure he will. But the games really do need to be played that weekend, so that all leagues finish at the same time. All rearranged games should also be completed by the last fixture date as well.

Unfortunate circumstances regarding the last round of matches. Inter league schedules are made during July/August and we cannot forsee any changes for Opens. It has not helped this year when the Mermaid in 2006 was April 23rd and 2007 April 29th. However we will try to do our best for all Inter league players for next season. Even if it means playing Inter league matches every three weeks instead of four.

Worthing C have rearranged their last game against Eastbourne to the week before, so as to finish their fixtures on time, and allow a number of the team to attend the Mermaid. If others are in the same boat, suggest that Sunday is free or alternatively you can arrange to play on the Monday. Looks as only a few games to be rearranged, assume these will be played before the last series as they have quite a bearing on the final tables.
