Redhill off to a good start against Tunny Wells with a 5-2 win at the Old Oak ................
*Geoff Jukes (9600) 13840, Ian Wright 1000 Jason Wadsworth 2390, *Pete Sainsbury (10110) 11520 Tony Cross 2230, *Neale Chamberlain 550 *Gary Powell (7330) 9580, Martin Russell 590 Clive Thompson 2430, *Doug Phillips 5320 Dave Constable 10430, *Richard Corbould 0 *Terry Oakley 6680, Vinny Mitchell 2500
One of those nights where if you strayed off the break the balls landed in awkward positions.
Felt sorry for Neale Chamberlain, he looked in great form until he lost several thousand by missing a ball behind the 30 hole with a wicked bounce off the cush.
But some great laughs, Tunbridge Wells as ever good sports and great company.

Usually Mr. Giffen would do the honours but he was unwell tonight MID SUSSEX:2 WEST SUSSEX:5 Paul Moyes-robb:3430 Trevor fitzwilliam:220 Paul four broke with a2k5 opener. Trevor replied with a 2k followed with a 2k5 from Paul. An unlucky Trevor black pegged with the game still open later.
Geoff Fairs: 1330 Trevor Tucker:2350 Trevor was caught out early by a ball moving off the spot but did enough for the win.
Ron sheridan:BP Martin Cole:5010 Martin led off with a good 4k but Ron was straight back on break. Unfortunately another 4 break scuppered the chances of a come back. This table is fast.
Darren Newham:1540 James Bicknell:2490 A tale of missed oppurtunitys. James 4-broke when on 5k but Darren pegged on a 3k winning break in return. Good game by both.
Alan Downs:1330 Declan Dynes:4260 Alan was desperatley unlucky to not retrieve the break. Declan eventually killed the game off.
Paul Jobbins:3570 Tim cole:4760 Tim opened with 2k but Paul returned with 3k. Cut and thrust for the rest but the oppossing captain did enough for the win.
Richard Spurrier:6530 Simon Mills:BP This was close early on but a late 4k break took this one.
7 good games, thanks to West Sussex for a good evening. Hopefully the Giffers will be back with us next month.

to start thanks to the landlord at the Romans for hosting us at short notice. We having arrived at the Gardeners at 6.30 to find we could not get on the table. To Littlehampton for having to switch venues when they were already on their way, and also for making it an enjoyable evening.
Gina Sherrat * of at 700, then her and Paul Olver spent 10 minutes at the top of table trying to retrieve the break. Paul was the one to do so and knock in winning 3k. 1290-4280 0-1
Dave Simmonds * off at 1k, Charlie Cooper got them back of at 2.5k. Again game was at top of table , Charlie got them back added another 1k. Dave then took control only to whip the 100 hole and give Charlie the break back as bar was due. 4980 - 3490 1-1
Paul Clifford * off at 1k. Edge Butler 2k, Paul another 1k, Edge the same, Paul got them back at right time to set up 100 hole decider both missed first time, Paul got second attempt 3340-3490 1-2
Steve Aylmore * opened with 1.5k, Jason Clough no matter what he did could not get btreak back. Steve added another 1.5k 3730-680 2-2
Alan Messer opened with 3k, Dave Jones did get them back put pegged break, Alan added another 3k. 1020-6020 1-3
Steve Beach * popened with 6k, Tj got htem back played wrong choice split left them both short at 2k. Steve got them back first and look to be sowing the game off only to come off with just under 2k. TJ got them back with just under 5 minutes left and a deficit of 5700, played table out leaving last ball for the 100, missed, Steve under hit and TJ made sure second attempt. 8060-7950
Rick Cunningham * off at 1k, then he a Dave Hampton set about exchanges at top of table. both added a couple of 1k breaks, and Dave was in process of adding another when bar dropped. Another game went to the last ball and Mr H sank 200 at first attempt 3480 -3550 3-4
Well done to Littlehampton, look forward to seeing you at the Locomotive next Sunday

Tony, I hope the reason you couldn't get onto the table at the Gardeners last night was only a temporary problem, as I have a match there tomorrow. In fact you kindly booked the table on my behalf.
