Have removed all previous threads to tidy things up and start anew. Have purchased a new site am in process of building it, have made a start and published it, please be patient with the navigation as still trying to get my limited skills honed and a bit of trial and error involved. Will start on the archive section, and would ask once this is up and running if anybody can fill in any of the gaps in the information, it would be greatly appreciated. All going to be on one site now rather than two. Access via www.wdbbl.co.uk

Tony, if you want the same as the old site whereas wdbbl.co.uk points to your wesite (no www. in front) then go into Control Panel -> Domain Names -> Select domain and click manage -> Scroll down to advanced settings -> click on Manage DNS -> Click Advanced -> Click edit pencil on the @ DNS row and make it the same as the bottom www dns entry

Blimey, that looks very complicated.... "computer speak" is almost a foreign language nowadays!! ::) ;D ;D Sorry, that's the least complicated I thought it would have been a tall order to ask that the DNS name server record target www be created as a canonical name record (CNAME) as a sub/domain alias as it is set up as an address record (A) with the url minus the prefix but is not pointing correctly. In short advanced DNS -> add CNAME -> hostname = www -> destination CNAME wdbbl.co.uk

Indeed I too think Russian is easier to understand than computer language! :) It's actually Spanish.... but to be fair to you, I did originally try to post it in Russian but my keyboard wouldn't replicate the letters properly so I changed it to Spanish afterwards. ::) ;D Bonus point awarded to Enzo as he obviously understood what I was trying to say. 8-)

Creo que el español es más fácil de entender que el lenguaje de las computadoras! :o ;D Literal translation: "I believe that Spanish is easier to understand than the language of computers". Amen to that. I did not have to google this ('A' level Spanish) but I admit that I did have to google "Canonical name" (CNAME) for more of an insight into the problem and to find out what Enzo is going on about. Still none really the wiser ! ;D Perhaps Enzo would care to explain in layman's terms the differing effects to the public domain there would be in having www. prefix or not having www. prefix to the Worthing website. Dave and I both run websites which as far as we are concerned are set up correctly. I have been offered remunerative reward from potential advertisers on mine, but have so far shunned any of these as I don't want any complications from the taxman - not until after I've reached retirement age.

Interesting that you should point that out as I have also been asked if advertising space is available on the Sussex Website. :o I made the decision to say no, mainly for the simple reason that I would be very unwilling to give an outside source access to change the website (which I assume that they would need to make changes to their adverts) as it could lead to a total loss of control of the content on the website which I feel could cause major problems in the future. :-/

And 'no deal' if the advertiser insisted on control access. Quite happy really to maintain the status quo indefinitely.

Whoops, that's the problem with going back and changing what you said to be more grammatically correct, I meant to say Spanish is easier but Russian is more complicated than computer talk lol.
Tommo to answer your question there is no need to allow access without the www. it is just an ease-of-use thing that is easily changed. Also for search engines or mobile devices that have a 'feeling lucky' type search where one can just type worthing bar billiards and the wdbbl.co.uk site comes up. Sometimes have the www. prevents this (but not always).
P.S. You are correct, yours & Dave's sites are correctly configured
