Result card 30/01/2013
Royal Albert vs Nags Head B
Denis Cole 1730:730 Dave Pearce Tony Gates 2060:600 Sean Keyes Nick Speight 1690:500 Lisa Woodall Phil Lambourne 1540:0 Glenn Davis Mike Daw 2120:760 Ray Roberts
Royal Albert win 5:0
On what was the worst the Royal Albert table (even by this tables standards) that I have played so far this season, all players struggled for any kind of consistency with the table having an awful right hand drift all over the table tonight.
I felt sorry for the opposition for having to endure such torment. (At least we know it will usually be rubbish).
All in all we had a good evening with both teams taking a light hearted approach to the game.
With bit bit of leveling at the end of the night we have got the table near half playable which is as good as it gets unfortunately. Hopefully some slightly better scores will follow in the future.

Wow, looks like there were a lot of 5:0 results this week and a 4:1 according to the web site. Can't remember the last time I have seen such one sided set of results.

Hi Hastings Bb fans
Singles match played at the ash tonight
Colin Southouse v Mike Daw
Game 1 Colin opened with 4.5k Mike scored plenty of points but pegged too many Game 2 Mike opened with 7k and kept scoring colin not on same page in this game
Game 3 decider Colin opened with 6k Mike followed with 6k then some bits and pieces then mike working on 1.5k at the bar to take a well deserved win, a great match
Thanks to Sandy and the Harmster for scoring and the missus who turned up to watch for the first time in 6 years, will probably be another 6 years after the 4 pin weekend before it happens again :-*

Hi Hastings BB Fans
Week 13 results card for The Plough B v OKJ B played at the plough
Lee Sunshine 4920 v 400 Billy Skinner Colin Southouse 14850 v 240 Phil Roberts Stewart Chant 3320 v 2050 Ray Norton Sarah Quinn 980 v 2120 Colin Mason Heather Akehurst 550 v 2240 Andrew Lipscombe
Result The Plough win 3-2
Billy (new boy) skinner in at the deep end on his first outing against the improving Lee Sunshine was always struggling to keep up, hope he enjoyed the experience tonight Colin initially off early with 1.2k, followed up with a quick 4.5k and then an 8.8k leaving Phil in the spectators chair for most of the match and Colin with a new all time PB Stewart was ahead for the whole game thanks to a 2.2k break mid way through, but Ray stuck to his guns and remained in the match always with a chance of catching Stewart, particularly near the finish when stew invariably (accidentally) attempts to take the BP off the back cushion, Jupiter is beckoning again Sarah after missing the break started well and got to 700 early on and it looked like another pb was on the cards, but alas she got bogged down on the white pegs, giving Colin enough chances to overtake her and some steady play from Colin followed making the 1st game for the visitors Andrew opened with a nice 1k, heather kept nipping in with a few but a red ball near the bulk line for the rest of the match give heather little chance of making inroads into Andrews lead
The draw helped the Plough B today but it was nice to see 3 X 2k+ scores from the OKJ B's in the match, looks like things are on the up here A super sized sausage stew and chips were well received by all tonight, another great effort from martin

Hi Hastings BB fans
Report of match between The Royal Oak and The Plough
Had a great game of Bar Football before the match......... ;D ;D ;D

Result card for The Plough v The Ashburnham A Heather Akehurst 360 v 8130 Bob Osbourne Stewart Chant 5480 v 3600 Mick Caistor Lee Sunshine 4550 v 2750 Vic Hibben Colin Southouse 600 v 3320 Phil Osbourne Sarah Quinn 680 v 4960 Dave White
Result Ashburnham win 3-2 Bob opened with 4.5k leaving Heather out in the cold, a few more breaks from Bob sealed Heathers fate Stewart played a steady game for a nice change including a 2k with Mick staying in touch with a 3k keeping the interest levels high, but Stewart kept his nerve to win the game Lee had a similar game to Stewart just keeping ahead of Vic to make the score 2-1 to the hosts Colin opened with about 6.5k and looked good for a high break and winning the game and match in 1 visit before lipping the split into the left hand peg. (must have swapped brains with Stewart in the trans-mat beam) Didn't realise Ozzie could move that fast in taking my place at the table though, but with some definite focus, worked on building a lead, Colin never recovered and in 1 fell swoop lost the game, match and any chance of catching Ozzie senior for the top spot. Will now have to wait another season for that. Dave opened with 3.5k leaving Sarah a mountain to climb, but with support from both sides she knuckled down and made a valiant attempt to catch up Nice match with the Ash A team as ever and another huge bowl of stew to keep us all warm at the interval. A nice draw for the hosts almost saw the plough unseat the current top dogs in Hastings. We look forward to a rematch against these Hastings Hero's on Sunday

Hi Hastings BB Fans
result card for the Plough B v Nags Head B Sarah Quinn 1660 v 2970 Steve Featherstone Heather Akehurst 0000 v 440 Ray Roberts Lee Sunshine 3400 v 3930 Steve McGill Stewart Chant 2700 v 1320 Peter Crabtree Colin Southouse 9330 v 1480 Sean Croft Result Nags B win 3-2 Sarah started slowly conceding a 1k lead to badger but came good towards the end coming back in style with a new seasons PB but was not enough to overtake the score accrued by badger at each visit. Ray was off the subs bench in a flash when Ewan failed to arrive and opened with 450 a lead which was maintained for most of the game, the BP then came to Heathers rescue with a few mins to go leaving her 550 ahead. Her decision to take on a white behind the 10 when other balls were available was probably not the wisest shot shes played but i suppose it was a learning experience... at the cost of her own BP at the bar leaving Ray to clear up the balls and take a fortuitous win Lee and Steve battled out the best game of the night, Steve coming out top in the end leaving the visitors 3-0 down Stewart and Crabbers had a better game than the scores suggest with Crabbers generally outscoring Stewart but could not keep the telling breaks leaving Stewart to take some consolation points Colin started slowly against Sean but gathered momentum as regular opportunities arose, but only achieving one 3k break in the process, glad to be back in the points again A nice jocular evening with the Nags B as usual

Result card for Plough B V Plough A Stewart Chant 3500 v 2710 Alec Pope Lee Sunshine 6010 v 1930 Jack Pope Colin Southouse 11180 v 180 Rez Rezai Harry Sunshine 780 v 880 Martin Cook Heather Akehurst 310 v 3150 Fred Pope Result Plough B win 3-2 Alec was off earlier than expected Stewart forged ahead and Alec came back well to take the lead, but Stewart was on the break at the right time to take the first points, Lee and Jack both off early, Lee got a quick 1.5k as did Jack who looked well under control but a missed split gave Lee the opportunity he needed to add another 2.5k and a further nice break at the end stopped Jacks good run of results pleased also to see Lees marked improvement in recent weeks. After Rez slipped up on his opening shots Colin got the break back and opened with 3.5k, Rez never recovered and another 7k+ break shortly after sealed the match for the hosts, Young Harry Sunshine in only his 2ND match in Hastings had a tough game against Martin Cook with neither player holding scores for most of the game, Martin eased gradually into a 500 lead but Harry picked up a nice 400 break at the death with 2 balls left Harry was 140 behind and needed to keep one up but alas it was not to be, A great effort from Master Sunshine and many thanks for standing in at such short notice. Fred started well with Heather struggling, as ever, to keep any breaks Fred easily pulled away leaving Heather down and out and with another above average performance also took the top Pope of the night award Always fun with the A's in the plough Derby tonight Regards Colin

Well done to the Ashburnham A on winning the league last night. A deserved win last night from what I saw of the games before I went. Dave definitely deserved to beat me last night making much more of his opportunities than I did. Phil also looked like he was playing well when i left.
Again congratulations on winning the title.

Well done to the Ash A on winning the league this season with 1 week to play, there's lots still to play for the chasing teams, with only a few teams guaranteed their final position, its nice to see 4 teams were in the running this year and with the averages being posted regularly there was plenty of interest in who had gone up and down, have had a few teething problems with the averages format but its getting easier. Congratulations to Sandy Harmer for setting up and running the new Hastings web site, which has undoubtedly taken a fair bit of time out of his calendar over the last few months and i know lots of people appreciate his commitment even if they don't comment on it. Hopefully next season will be as much fun and this season and its a hard act to follow... and the summer league beckons 8-) :-* regs cs

Indeed sandy has done a great job with the web site. It has been updated so efficiently and has made it so easy to follow and know what could occur with each win or loss. Other years we have been playing we have only seen maybe four league tables over the season. But that had been down to teams not getting the score cards in consistently on time. With the web site there it appears to have given people more incentive to get the results in. Either that or sandy hounds them til he gets the info he needs. Lol.

Hi Hastings Bb fans
result card for OkJ A v The Plough B played 13/03/13 Andy Eldridge 4230 v 2110 Sarah Quinn Chris Lamb 5420 v 5870 Colin Southouse Nigel Doe 11060 v 1750 Stewart Chant Mark Bailey 2770 v 190 Heather Akehurst Andy Ellison 1140 v 4870 Lee Sunshine
Result OKJ A win 3-2 Andy was not on form tonight and struggled with the slow pace of the table, but kept scoring steadily giving an improving Sarah too much to do on this occasion but another seasons PB for her bodes well for the B's next season. Chris opened with 2k Colin replied with 1k then 1k from Chris followed by 4.5k from Colin then Chris came back to be 600 behind at the bar, Chris needed to keep the red up to give himself an opportunity to nick the game but the run of the balls and the 20 hole came to Colin's rescue Stewart and Nigel were both off early but a 2.5k and a 5k from Nigel made the game safe, another nice break at the end saw Nigel happily score the second seasons PB (may be an all time PB) so well done to Nigel tonight Mark arrived late after some timely road gritting around Hastings and made a good start against Heather scoring regularly and ending up with the 3rd seasons PB of the night Lee opened with 2k and gradually bagged some extra points while Andy unluckily bagged a few pegs and was always chasing and though he had opportunities to make some big scores the table had other ideas A good night with the A's and plenty of points scored on OKJ table which played about the best I've seen it so far, even though it was a little slower than we've recently been used to. regs cs
