A great match at the Atlas tonight. I'll try and do it justice with my summary:
Atlas C vs Ye Olde Black Horse
Steve Mariner 12,240 - 5,230 *Ian Lelliott Ian went off with just over 5k but broke down, Steve then went on and after a few shots up the back managed to get the balls back and do enough to kill the frame. 1-0 to the Atlas.
Grant Tulley* 180 - 9,790 Gareth Lloyd After kicking off with over 5k, Grant played a slpit that spun out of the 100 and into the peg. Gareth then went straight on to get the balls back and did enough to finish off the frame. 1-1
Jim Millward 10,390 - 7,420 *Richard Wooton Richard had the break but came off early giving Jim the chance to get the balls back, which he did. Jim then went on to rack up enough, but even then Richard came back strong to cap off a high scoring game. 2-1 to the Atlas and all games so far going against the break!
Geoff Jukes* 11,430 - 4,900 Nigel Senior Geoff with the break went on but came off with only 500 after a bad split. Nigel didn't manage to get the balls back, but Geoff needed no second chance and went on to make a break of over 10k to finish the frame. Even then Nigel managed to rack up just under 5k in about 3 and a half minutes. Atlas now 3-1 up and win the match.
Glenn Chubb 8,570 - 8,390 *Marcus Chipman This is the kind of game that I wish I was watching rather than playing in! It was a simple game of 2 breaks. Marcus kicked off with a great break of 8,390 in just over 11 minutes, leaving me the remaining 8 minutes or so to chase his score. Fortunatly (for me anyway) I got the balls straight back and did just that, playing the table out for 8,570 and just squeeking over the line. From what I can remember that's the highest score in a single leg game I've ever sucsessfully chased down. My heart went out to Marcus, not only a true gentleman but probably the highest break you could hope to lose with in a league match.
Final Score 4-1 to the Atlas C.
So a wonderful night and a great game played by all (an average of over 15k per leg) and once again it was great to hang out with some old friends and have such a laugh. Can't wait until our next encounter. And as the only one of the 10 players in tonights match not going to Jersey, may I wish you all the very best of luck :)

Wellie B 1 - Atlas A 4
Nick 4630 - Alan 7630* - Nick 3.9k break to clear the table was interesting (?). If only he had another 5 mins before the bar dropped. Garry 4100* - Steve 5000 - 9k combined score was quiter high being both of these 2 tried to lose. Mark 770 - Brian 6730* - Mark couldn't get into a game that Brian controlled. Tim 5990* - Sheena 780 - As above for Sheena Kim 1430 - Mick 5150* - Kim didn't really stand a chance.
A couple of games could have gone the other way but a desreved win for the Atlas guys.
