I beat Pete Hickman on a very uphill and left Romans table this evening. Would probably be a perfectly nice top if someone bothered to level it!

Men's Singles M.Knight 2-1 T.Lewis - first two games with break, then a very low scoring decider on an increasingly difficult table.
Men's Doubles P.Brown & M.Knight 2-1 P.Hickman & C.Cox - Mr Brown's break of 5750 in the decider proving decisive, although Mr Hickman was on course to overtake when pegging a late break.

Dave France beat Martin Smith 2-1 at The Smugglers. Lovely top with first two legs going with break; albeit Martin lost 8,000. Martin had a 3,000 lead from the initial visits in the decider but Dave got the break back and settled the match.
Martin Smith and Geoff Jukes beat Enzo and Chris Oakley at the Tarring Club - another good top. Chris broke off with about 500 in the first leg and Martin touched up on a 9,650 break then Geoff broke off with 9,350 in the second leg to seal a 2-0 victory.

I beat Pete Hickman 2-0 in the seniors and lost 1-2 to Barry Holt in the main comp.
Marine View was playing well last night - I broke off with 5700 in the decider and Barry came back with 8300 and touch. Best of luck in the next round Barry.

I played TJ at the Henty in the seniors comp last night. Final result was 2-1 to me on a table requiring more thought than either player was prepared to give.

Its good if you ask for the match balls, as Dave France and myself did not, bacause two of the balls are either a different size or weight and can become a problem on the break (nobody told us).

Bill beat Brian 2-0 in the 50s at the Charles Dickens, Bill settling better than Brian on the table.
At the same venue Martin and Laura Cole won 2-0 in the mixed against Matt and Amy. Martin and Laura won the first comfortably and then Laura sunk th 100 hole to win the second.
Phil and Substitute Brian (Joe having the flu), beat Tony and Bill 2-1 at the Marine View in the doubles. Brian and Phil won the first against and built a good lead in tne 2nd but Bill got them back in the 2nd with just enough time to run the table out and nick it. TJ missed his first splity and off at 600, Brian replied with 4k and was first to get it back and add another 2k, TJ got them back with 4 minutes left but ran out o ftime in the chase, played it out with just over 4k.
