The final series of matches are due to be played this weekend.... and I can't think of such an exciting finale to a season than this one for many years with the Division 1 title still being contested by 3 Teams, relegation from Division 1 all down to one game, 3 teams still in contention for promotion from Division 2 and another relegation battle from Division 2 as well! :o 8-)
Here is a quick look at the matches.... and what is at stake in each of them....
Division 1 Brighton A v Brighton B Current leaders Brighton A take on their B Team knowing that they must win the game to have a chance of taking the title again this year. Currently level on points with Worthing A, their lead is only 2 legs and around 20k aggregate score with Redhill A 2 points behind but only 1 leg behind. Brighton B have secured their place in Division 1 for next year and are the only team with "nothing to play for".... but we all know that local derby games are normally the most fiercely competitive matches with bragging rights to play for! ;D
Redhill A v Worthing A Redhill A can still win the League, providing they beat their visitors and Brighton A lose their match.... they are unbeaten at home this season and know the Old Oak table very well. Worthing A have the benefit of having 4 break games and have beaten Redhill A the last 2 times that they have played at the Old Oak so we can expect it to be a very close match! 8-)
Tunbridge Wells v Worthing B The big relegation battle with both team level on 4 points so it's a winner takes all match.... the home team have had both of their two wins in matches at the Constitutional Club while the visitors have lost all of their away games so far.... much will depend on which players Worthing B have available on the night? :-/
Division 2 Mid-Sussex A v Horsham Leaders Mid-Sussex host second place Horsham, both teams level on 12 points but Mid-Sussex have a big advantage in both legs and aggregate scores which means that a win for them will secure the title and promotion regardless of other results elsewhere. A win for the visitors might not be enough to secure the title as Hastings are only 1 leg behind them and have a superior aggregate score.... ::)
Littlehampton v Hastings Littlehampton are currently 4th in the table but are just 2 points behind the leaders, they can't win Division 2 this year as two of the teams above them are playing each other but they could still secure runners-up spot if Mid-Sussex A beat Horsham. Hastings are level on points with Mid-Sussex A and Horsham and know that a win will either make them champions or runners-up.... although they could end up in 4th place if they lose! :o
Worthing C v Redhill B Another relegation crunch match with both teams level on 4 points, Redhill B currently above Worthing C as they have won one more leg than their hosts. Worthing C won the reverse fixture earlier this season 4-3 with all games going with the break, the quirky Smugglers table could make this a very close game. :-/
Division 3 Pretty much everything decided in Division 3 already.... but as I am here I might as well comment on these games as well.... ;D
Lewes v Mid-Sussex B Lewes will be hoping to finish with a win after a season that sees them finish bottom of the League.... :'( .... their visitors currently hold third place in the League and can't finish higher than that, but could slip down a place if they lose and Billingshurst win their final match.... :-/
Eastbourne v Billingshurst Champions Eastbourne have already made sure of the title but will be looking to finish the season in style.... and a bit earlier than everybody else with a 4pm start! ::) A win for Billingshurst could move them up to third place but they can just relax and enjoy the match. 8-)
Brighton C have a bye in this series and will finish as runners-up this year regardless of the other results of these games.... there is a rumour that one of their players will be travelling to another venue to watch one of the other matches and I am sure that ear protection kits will be available there on the night! :o ;D ;D ;D

Congratulations to Mid Sussex on a deserved win today & over the season! Best Wishes for next year in Div.1 Thanks to everyone in the Horsham team for another succesful & fun year! Well done indeed to Mid Sussex A, worthy winners on the night, with Boball gaining the advantage with a quickfire 8k coming from behind. And Moose did well to get into a position to win with the last 200 to make it 3-3 but sadly it wasn't to be. Excellent food at usual from the hosts - sarnies, chicken kievs and garlic bread. Probably my last-ever Interleague game and good to go out on a bit of a high. 8-)

Well done to mid Sussex a on promotion to div 1. Also well done littlehampton on your victory last night to get the runners up spot. It's been a fun season and enjoyable season . The division being so close going into the final series of games showing just how competitive it was. Looking forward to next season now and playing a local derby against Eastbourne. Now we are just waiting to see who else will join us in div 2 from div 1?

Worthing C demoted losing 4-3 on the last gameat home to Redhill B, well done to them.
Rick Cunningham opened with 2k and with Baz Symonds no luck on retrieving the break till late on Rick added another break to make sure 5780-1110 1-
Richard Plaw left one up short.James Whittle made 2k break and lost another 2k but made sure with Richard not finding pace of table a good start for Worthing 3340-2010 2-0
Martin Greenway off early on one up left short Pete Brown unable to take advantage, Martin made sure 1790-6480 2-1
Colin Green off at 1k, then him and Mark Fraser made small breaks until when 2k down Martin set about the deficeit to make sure 4180-4600 2-2
Aaron Hill off at 1k and TJ break back but off at 1k missing the split thick. Aaron then played well whilst TJ did not. BP(IN FRUSTRATION) - 6750 2-3
Ginette Nicholls off early and Mal Spier two good breaks to make sure and show how the table should have been played previously 13860 - 660 3-3
Dave Jones off at 2k, Graham Holman did get them back but off early, Dave did get break back but adde3d less than 1k, Budge then put in 2k and another 1.5k to take lead as bar went, Dave had enough balls to catch the deficeit but balls were awkward, 3540-4050 3-4
Well done to Redhill and a great evening with plenty of banter, good luck in Division two next season.
