Matt and Pete beat us 2-1 at the Swan tonight. Last ball game in the 100 - I missed, Pete hit.
Best of luck in the final chaps.
Then we decamped to Littlehampton where Mr Ridley beat Matt in the singles - also 2-1.

Thanks Paul Well in the end the aggregate scores in the deciders between the 3 Charles Dickens players and the 2 Smugglers players added up to about 250 points, just what the game should be about. I am sure it is unusual for two semi-finals to be so close with deciders won by 80 and 340 points respectively. Best wishes to Gary in the final. Very enjoyable evening with good people

Great Mixed Doubles Semi at the Atlas tonight. Shame there had to be a loser. Coleen & Dave 1 Lady H & KT 2
Game 1 Coleen opened with 1300, Hayley didn`t get them back but Dave did and made 8k.
Game 2 Hayley opened with 2k and she was first to get them back, where she made a superb 5k break.
So into the third and Dave broke off with 8550, my first look at the break on the night and steadily set about the chase, reaching 7k when the bar dropped. Another £1 and I managed to catch Dave`s score. Hard luck to them, excellent match.

Great Mixed Doubles Semi at the Atlas tonight. Shame there had to be a loser. Agree entirely, very enjoyable game with Hayley playing superbly in the second game to to keep them in the match and then Kevin finishing the game off.... well played both of you and best of luck to both pairs in the final, it should be a good match. 8-)

I beat Neil 2-0 at the Smugglers in the Senior Singles tonight.
First game could (politely) be described as very scrappy with neither of us getting to grips with the table, second game Neil missed an early split shot and was off shortly afterwards, I managed to get the break back and touched on 8.5k. ;)
Many thanks to Barney for scoring the game. 8-)

Colleen Park v Sheena Wood @ Romans being played next thurs - 2nd may. Sheena beat Colleen 2-1 tonight at the Romans.... Here are the rough match scores from the games.... Colleen v Sheena 1,500* - 2,100 920 - 740* 1,200* - 1,600* Highest opening break in a game.... 50! :o Highest break in entire match....570 (all at the back of the table) :P Sheena did manage a break of over 1k once during the game, mostly potting on the left hand 50 hole.... but then completely missed the ball when it was directly in front of the 50 hole as it dived even further left than normal and lost her score! :o :P What a shame that a semi-final was put here.... ::) ....I think it is probably best that I don't say any more about the table than that or I will be banned from the Forum! >:( >:( >:( :-X :-X :-X

It`s a shame the table played that bad, I can only assume it had been moved. I was there on April 18th for a Div 2 match and it didn`t seem that bad. The break was on and there certainly wasn`t a roll like the one described. I had a look to see when they last played a Home match in Brighton - March 6th ??? Obviously needs a few more games methinks :P
