There have been some complaints about the lateness of my reports recently, I shall therefor (completely oblivious to my teams mates I might add) write my match report this week whists the game is in progress.
West Hill A vs Atlas C
Chris Tupper 5,320 - 6,710 Jim Millward
Jim went on and racked up 6k, Tupps them got the balls back but only got a couple of grand. Jim failed to get the break back then Tupps went on to get a couple of this end more. The rest if the game was played pretty much at the back of the table, with Jim managing to just squeak over the line. 1-0 to the Atlas.
Kevin Simmons 4,730 - 1,180 Glenn Chubb
Kevin kicked off with a slow 2k, I failed to get them back leaving Kev to get another thousand. As before the rest if the game was played at the back if the table (which at this point seems to be a feature to the match this far) By the time I managed to get the break back it was too late, and even then I came off again. 1-1
Colin Smith 2,730 - 4,630 Geoff Jukes
Geoff came of with 800 and then Colin went on to get a couple of grand. It looked for all the world like the rest of the game was going to be played at the back at the table, but Geoff managed to get the balls back and run in over 3k at the end to win the game. 2-1 to the Atlas.
Jeff Dobson 700 - 4,360 Grant Tully
Grant was off early but Jeff could not take advantage. After some back and forth Grant got back on the break to make a few thousand, and although he came off again that priced to be enough to seal the leg and the win. 3-1 to the Atlas.
Sub note: now that leg 4 has finished, Tupper finally buys Jim his well deserved drink!
Micky Winder 1,910 - 1,940 Mark James
Mark came off with about 100 after hitting te break too fat. The rest of the game was spent at the back of the table with Mark potting the 100 at the end to win thr match. 4-1 to the Atlas.
Always great fun with the Sportsman trophy winners, I say that because given there record it's surely a formality :) Thank you to te Weat Hill for the lovely food an for hosting us.

Atlas 4-1 Romans
S.Hurley 8700 - 2220 R.Pettiford M.Adatepe 6390 - 630 R.McGuiness M.Pope 5400 - 6700 M.Knight S.Wood 3950 - 1600 P.Aylemore A.Messer 3070 - 1740 T.Hunt
Enjoyable night at the Atlas, we continued our poor run of results. Ross decided to leave one up short.......twice ::) Toni very unfortunate to lose last game as she had winning break, didn't realise and completely messed up, knocking peg over as bar dropped :'(
Interesting music at one point :o ??? :P :-[ :-X

I'll post a formal end of season review once all the league games have finished, but for now just thought I would say a big congratulations to my friends at the Black Horse for winning the title.
They are an awesome team and have proved so by being so consistent all year. We've had some great matches, and more importantly each evening spent playing against them has been a pleasure.
I'm really looking forward to next year when hopefully we can give you a better run for your money, but until then I must say once again... well done. Very well deserved.

Congratulations to the Black Horse, who won the Brighton League last night without having to pick their cues up.... :o ;D

.... while a win for the Atlas C puts them level on points with the Horse & Groom D in the race to be runners-up. ;)
The Atlas A leap-frog above the Albion A in the battle at the top of Division 1 after their rivals game was postponed....

.... after the Romans suffered another heavy defeat although they can close some of that gap if they win their games in hand over them, including this match...
Postponed Matches Romans v Horse & Groom A (Week 11) Albion A v West Hill B (Week 23)
Hopefully, both of these games will be re-arranged before the end of the season as they obviously both could affect who will win Divisions 1 and 2 this year.... ::)

Apologies for being a bit delayed, but I just wanted to say congrats to the Black horse on the Premier title this year. It was well deserved as they were easily the best team this season. We hope to give them a better run for their money next year - now we have shaken the rust off ;-)
