Duke of Wellington A 3 Atlas C 2
Bill Kerr 6,920 - 3,030* Geoff Jukes Geoff had a couple of goes at the break before Bill got the balls back and won the game in one visit. 1-0
Dave Ingram 11,590* - 3,530 Glenn Chubb Chubbster quick to volunteer to play this game but then had to wait quite a while for his first shot until I touched on 10k. ;D 2-0
Rick Cunningham 7,700 - 2,800* Steve Mariner Steve never settled at all and a couple of good breaks from Rick gave him a well deserved win. 3-0
Mal Spier 1,290* - 7,300 Jim Millward Mal generously left both balls up on his opening break and never got going after that leaving Jim to take the win. 3-1
Dave Anscombe 960 - 9,300* Grant Tulley Grant always in control of the last game.
Fantastic evening in good company.... probably our best performance at home this season. 8-)

Romans 3-2 Montreal
**T.Hunt 1110 - 1390 DJ Robins **R.Pettiford 2430 - b/p G.Mechan **R.McGuiness 570 - 1240 T.Hocking **M.Knight 6050 - 350 B.Mechan **P.Aylemore 2000 - 1440 M.Scott
Gary cannot remember ever having won at the Romans, and I can't remember the Montreal winning as a team there (even in the days of the excellent table of Marcus and Richard). Nothing at all changed tonight, with the Mont having great difficulty in getting the break back. Bob did, but he was unable to get anything going. Gary had a go at the break afterwards and it was clear that if he had managed to get it back in the game he would have had no trouble in racking up the points. Always a very good and thoroughly enjoyable evening with the Montreal, plenty of pre Palace and Brighton banter flying around.
I am sure that revenge will be on the menu in the Plate final in a couple of weeks, ironically on the aforementioned Marcus and Richard table ;)

Nothing at all changed tonight, with the Mont having great difficulty in getting the break back. Gary and the rest of the Montreal team have my full sympathy and understanding.... :-X ;D
