I have been informed that our life vice president and former secretary Bob Hurley has passed away on Monday morning. Bob was one of the great characters that made our game different to all others. Bob was Worthing and district bar billiards for a number of years as secretary, treasurer and finally life vice president.
No other details are available and I will keep you all posted as to funeral arrangements.

Bob was league secretary through some difficult times and did the job with the utmost integrity and always had the games best interest at heart.
From a personal point of view I was lucky to have played in the same team and against Bob and ad many a good night, condolences to his family at this time, R.I.P.

As said above it is with great sadness to hear of Bob Hurley's passing. I was Chairman or Vice-Chairman virtually every year that Bob served as Secretary and/or Treasurer to the WDBBL. During that period we had a excellent working relationship.
Outside of Bar Billiards we also found that we had common interests, including fishing, which we did together on many occasions.
R.I.P. Bob.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Damian and myself are sorry that you had to share our bad news via a web forum, but we had so few up to date contact details for Dad's friends in the Worthing & District Bar Billiards.
I expect that being presentation night, the sudden and unexpected passing of our dear Dad has now reached most people, although I hope it did not detract too much from what was always an enjoyable evening.
We will shortly be able to give you the details of Dad's funeral, and you will all be more than welcome to attend, it would be great to give him a good send off.
Thank you once again,
Adam and Damian Hurley.

Dear all,
I understand that Dave Jones could not attend on Friday for medical reasons and we sincerely hope he is now on the mend.
Damian and I would like to thank Terry, Tony, Rick, Malcolm and Michelle from the bottom of our hearts for coming to Dad's service on Friday and afterwards the celebration of his life at the Olde House at Home.
Bar Billiards played such a large part in Dad's life that to have some of his friends from the League present was a great comfort (not least to appreciate that part of his eulogy) and touching tribute.
Thank you also for the flowers from the League, they were beautiful and have not gone to waste, having been donated to St Barnabus' Hospice after the service, where they will be further appreciated.
Once again, many thanks, we hope to see you all again before too long.
Please pass this message on to anyone who does not frequent this forum.
Kind Regards,
Adam and Damian Hurley

Have only just caught up with the sad news. I'd like to add my condolences to all of Bob's family. I worked alongside Bob on the WDBBL committee and he always had the best interests of Bar Billiards at heart and was always prepared to go the extra mile to make sure that the best interests of the league and its players were served. Bob is a sad and untimely loss and will be missed by all who knew him.
