Hi Folks
I am back on the forum after my little operation which actually turned into a life threatening operation.
I went into Worthing Last Tuesday (18th) for a hiatus hernia and the valve at the bottom of the oesophagus to be repaired. A stay of 24/48 hours.
I went into theatre and they pulled my stomach apart from my lung only to see a tear in the lung. This was repaired in the recovery room. My wife was trying to find out where I was for a good three hours. No-one told her where I was taken. I eventually was taken to the High Dependency ward where I stayed until coming out on Friday evening.
I was on nil by mouth until Thursday evening.
Oh, and to cap it all they lost my glasses between the anesthetic room and the ward which are still missing!
But I must add, the staff on HDU were heroes, I know they are highly trained but they are a really special breed of nurse. They certainly earn their wages and even more!
Now I am home I am on sloppy food. So far I have lost almost 1.5 stone.
It is good to be back

Welcome back Dave, glad you've managed to overcome your operation and the scare.
Will we still recognise the slimmer Dave I wonder?
Hope you gain in strength and make a 100% recovery, though I expect you will have to take things easy for a while.
Best wishes,
tommo and Margo. :-*
