Brewbells 4 - 2 Laughing Fish
*Derek Taylor 1390 - 3140 Ray Carpenter Neil Higgins 4860 - 1420 Jim Ashford* *Roy Wells 620 - 5140 Henry Brooks Richard Spurrier 2330 - 0 (BP) Andy Brooks
*Ros + Spud 3210 - 1610 Henry + Jim Neil + Trevor 1700 - 800 Andy + Ray*
Brewbells table providing its usual challenge - but it was there if you could avoid going up the back. High away break of 4260 in the singles for me.
Thanks to Ros and co for another good night.

Giggling Kippers 4 HH USC 2
Bill Kerr 4,620* - 2,970 Mick Kirwan Bill off fairly early and Mick gained a useful lead which he held for most of the game, Bill managed to get the break back with about 6 minutes left and made a winning break of 3.6k. 1-0
Ian Lelliott 100 - 5,620* Richard Wooton A nice opening break of 4,740 from Richard, Ian first to get the break back but broke down on 2.5k and the balls stayed at the back of the table after that with Ian unfortunately taking the black peg out near the end of the game.
Tony Jenner 2,080* - 2,210 Ray Pratt Tony off early when he pushed a 50 shot just past the hole and was unable to get the balls back after that, a steady game from Ray kept him in front when it mattered and clinched a useful win against the break for the visitors.
Dave Ingram 10,980 - 560* Graham Sparksman Sparky looked comfortable and had over 1k on the board when a 10 split just missed the hole and sat on the back cushion, he just missed the ball going up the middle and lost his break, I managed to get the balls back and touched on 9,850 to level the match.... and take the highest home break so far. :D
Ian Lelliott & Tony Jenner 7,490* - 630 Graham Sparksman & Huw Lincoln An excellent opening break of 6,850 from Ian proved enough with the balls staying in awkward places for the rest of the game.
Dave Ingram & Bill Kerr 4,710 - 1,750* Richard Wooton & Mick Kirwan Richard started well and looked comfortable until he was distracted by one of his own team mates who was leaving who reached over the table to shake hands with Ian who was scoring.... the phrase "I should have waited" was repeated many times during the course of the game as he then left the red ball very short on his one up shot and came off. The balls then started to accumulate on the table and became increasingly hard to clear with Richard & Mick holding a 1k lead. Richard played a superb shot to clear a ball off one of the pegs but was not rewarded and I managed to get the break back and did enough to clinch the win.
An excellent evening in good company with a match that could easily have gone either way and a lovely full Roast Beef dinner with all of the trimmings that we all enjoyed! 8-)
We look forward to the return match at USC in a few weeks time. :)
