Worthing B v Horsham has been postponed by Horsham due to lack of player availability.
This match will now be played on Sunday 12th October.
Thanks

I think it is too late to change things now. Billingshurst will become a bye.
We will look at to what to do the end of the season to see what we can do for next year.
Good luck all for the coming inter league season

Dave can I suggest the venue for the match on 8th Feb is changed Yes sure. How about Horsham Unless Division three teams wish to play each other four times? Division three teams can decide?

For the future I've been thinking of some options...
How about putting Div2 & Div3 together & using the M23 as a divide creating an East / West with a neutral playoff at the end. East - Brighton teams, Lewes, Hastings, Mid Sussex West - Redhill, Horsham, Worthing teams, Littlehampton (& Billingshurst?)
or...
promote the top 2 teams from Div2 this year to create 8 teams in Div1 & leave Div2 with the remaining 7/8 teams?

for this season could not the third division now play each other 4 times home and away giving them 8 games, the first series would stand as it is as one team would have a bye anyway giving time to arrange the rest of the division three fixtures for the rest of the season, at least that way the teams would get to play a fair amount of games.
Then next season could be looked at depending on teams entered.

Thankfully one of the Mid Sussex B team spotted this thread, otherwise we probably wouldn't have found out until we all arrived at Billingshurst tomorrow night!
I have been working away all week in Dublin and have been sending (at overseas rates) text messages to various people to get our team together.
This forum is great for the sharing of ideas and disseminating information, but I don't have time to follow every thread in every part of the board - surely somebody could have sent me a text/email/phoned me to tell me this fixture was cancelled?
That is very disappointing news about Billingshurst. I would favour the idea of playing the other 2 teams twice at home and twice away - if it possible to arrange enough dates for this to happen.
@bobhall - Nigel always adjusts the ranking points according to number of matches played.

Answering Rob I can see no problem giving ranking points for all games played but would need discussing with the rest of the committee

With 15 teams left, looks good for 3 groups of 5 next year unless the remnants off billingshurst could join with the west sussex mob .

No point creating extra games just for the sake of it in div 3. Should just be a 1 day shoot out but never mind. Rather than playing everyone 4 times just make games worth double points, don't see any difference. Plus I do like not having to rush my roast and songs of praise sing along.

With 15 teams left, looks good for 3 groups of 5 next year unless the remnants off billingshurst could join with the west sussex mob . I don't think that's very practical, both sides have completely separate identities and you have the South Downs in between. I would be surprised if we've completely seen the back of either team. I think Sk1ppy offered the best solution of zoning for the lower division with an East v West playoff. This has been tried before with reasonable success: Sussex is a long county, and anything that reduces the travelling for the sides at the extremities has got to be a good move.

Littlehampton 5 v Hastings 2
Dave Simmonds 7020 v 2640 Mike Osborne Alan Messer 12240 v 1800 Colin Southouse Paul Clifford 1420 v 4990 Dave White Simon Chant 3590 v 8120 Mike Daw Dave Hampton 8220 v 2300 Sandy Harmer Bill Harrison 5200 v 2910 Chris Turner Steve Beech 7000 v 3300 Phil Osborne
Well done littlehampton boys, the visitors found plenty of ways to come off, but leaving the 1up short was the main culprit, plenty of chances but few were taken
Nice night the little hamptons with same flavoursome eats near the end.
The early start causing us some unusual transport problems, but we overcame all the hurdles until we got the cues in our hands.

Thanks to Horsham for a great evening all but Adam there were plenty of chances and the difference was that Worthing took them, plenty of decibles and a spread of sandwiches to finish.
