Okay, here are my predictions.... (2700) Plough Plumpton v Cock'n'Balls (2500) The Plough have been on a great run lately in the league and have home advantage while the visitors have not really risen to the challenge yet despite their new signings this year. Much will depend on which players the visitors bring but a 3-2 home win looks the best possibility. (2500) Hospital Club v Laughing Fish K (4700) The visiting Kippers make the long swim East and will then have to turn into Salmon to have any chance in this match having to overcome the double challenge of the the 2,200 start the home team have and the other handicap of the table! If the home team use the handicaps correctly they will have a comfortable 4-1 win. (3400) Albion Brighton v Hikers Rest (4800) The backpackers will lace up their boots and make the short climb up the (very steep) hill to the Albion which was home to several of their players for many years. The home team will need to use the handicaps wisely but certainly have the firepower to win the game 3-2 if they do. (3100) Laughing Fish W v Black Horse (2800) The "other" Fish team will be starting to regret Henry's exploits in the League when they realise that he is responsible for more than 50% of their handicap which could mean that they will find this a tough competition. The handicaps don't make a huge difference in this game but the Horses look likely to gallop away with a 3-2 win this week. Glynde Club (4800) have a bye this week The top ranked Glynde Club will not get any points tonight and will be bottom of the table at the end of the evening.... My end of Season Predictions have been moved to a new thread.

Here are my predictions Plough v Cock With the handicaps having little effect in this one can see the Plough getting the season off to a good start with a 4 1 win. Hospital Club v Laughing Fish K A difficult table for the Fish to overcome the handicaps but think they will come away happy with a 3 2 win. Albion v Hikers This game could depend on the draw and the use of Silent's jokers , after this week I'm sure Nigel will be given the 1400 handicap .Going for a 3 2 win for the home team . Laughing Fish W v Black Horse. The Black Horse to take advantage of 3 breaks and a small handicap lead to win 3 2. As for the season think the youngsters from the Albion will take some scalps and guide them to the title. At least I don't have to make any decisions on where to play my Jokers this year but I'm sure we will have fun and enjoy the banter throughout the games.

1. Plough 3 - 2 Cock Richards scores have given the cock little advantage in this format, the homies just carving a big enough furrow 2. Hospital 3 - 2 K's K's big guns all need to perform, not an easy ask on the Hospital top, tough to call but will favour the homies 3. Albion 2 - 3 Hikers The hikers climbing this little hillock with room to spare 4. W's 2 - 3 Black Horse with a slight advantage and the jokers it should be only a small hurdle for the Black Horse to jump over

Hikers Rest - the other top handicap team have a history of not taking this competition very seriously with 200 hole challenges a regular appearance! Final position: 7th Hikers Rest - 8th Not liking these predictions , team instructions go for it ,no mercy but don't forget to know your 200 shot.

Plough to take a straight furrow to overcome the Ball Cocks 4-1
Hospital to need nurses to lick their wounds as the Kippers come to grips with the table for a 3-2 win
On the slope Albion to use their table advantage and overcome the back backing Hikers 3-2
The LF Ws to find the uphill swim tough against the Black Horse who will hardly break out of a canter to win 4-1

Here are the results (and predictions) from the Albion Jury:- (please do not take any offence - none is meant) Albion Brighton - without doubt the nicest and quietest team in the league Also, we have the player who has won the most last ball games so far this season, and the only 8 out of 8 man (although he is not a TKO man) , but a noisy captain always poses problems and we lost to a team we have got to give starts away to. Surely, the 'best' Stoner will come to the fore and Mrs Baden is always a force to be reckoned with - 4th (mid table ish) Black Horse - had a shocking start to the season but catching up now. Defeated us and now we are giving them a start so very dangerous. If Jan avoids Millward and Senior in the draw anything could happen - 1st Cock'n'Balls - joint lowest handicaps, mostly from one player who I am more than delighted to possibly have to give a start to . They were 'Jacked' and don't know much about their other players (sorry) - 8th Glynde Club - The 'Eastbourne/Hastings Mafia' stroll into town and normally stroll out with the points, but I see they have to give some start away to the Fish Ks so that will be pretty tough, notwithstanding the rest of us - 4th Hikers Rest - they have the former holder of 'the best captain on a Monday ever' but that crown has gone and so will the League Cup . I would blame Chunk(y) but he is my Sussex Doubles partner . So I am afraid it is the captain's fault for the high handicap - 9th or 10th or last or bottom Hospital Club - great bunch, they have also been 'Jacked' this season. I understand the table is not great but it was only a couple of World Champions who told me that so it can't be right. Low handicaps and tough table are normally a good combination - 3rd Laughing Fish K - Not a bad team on paper with TJ and Parky in their ranks .......it goes downhill after that though with Messrs Ingram, Millward and Lelliot following on ...............Captain Ingram will be working as we speak on getting the handicaps right against the Hikers and Glynde Club and they will looking to 'batter' the Albion after we beat them in the League in an 'interesting' match - 5th Laughing Fish W - "Silent's" only competition for the quietest man in bar billiards is in this team , but H's skill has made it tough with quite a high handicap - 7th Plough Plumpton - Real dangers especially if Ross, Rob, Rod or whatshername turns out , we had a great match at the Plough (somehow getting lost on the way) but I apologise now to the spectator who I crashed into and the chair that got injured in the first 'Jacking' of the season . They are on a good handicap 'mark' - 2nd Looking forward to it, but the head is hurting with thoughts of the handicap tactics

Week 1 predictions:- (2700) Plough Plumpton v Cock'n'Balls (2500) - Handicaps very close together, nice top at the Plough (if you don't get lost on the way - I blame the driver) Looking at previous form the league match was 3-2 so I go for that again - 3-2 (2500) Hospital Club v Laughing Fish K (4700) - Had a quick look at the scores from the league encounter and the Fish didn't cover the handicaps so if Mr Chant is a wily fox and uses the them well I am confident of a home win as I think only 1 WC is in attendance, especially as James is playing well for the HC - 4-1 (3400) Albion Brighton v Hikers Rest (4800) - Local 'punch-up' with a few grudges to settle Father and Daughter (1) in opposition and No 1 will surely win a game soon. Hikers know the table very well and even with the starts the 3 breaks to make the difference - 2-3 (3100) Laughing Fish W v Black Horse (2800) - At the Black Horse earlier in the season the home team won 3-2, they have to travel to the Fish but obviously get an extra break this time. Also, they get the 300 start in 3 legs, looks too obvious but going with the form book - 1-4

Okay, time for the first bit of marking this year.... 3 points for correct result plus a bonus point for predicting that the result would hinge on the visitors not bring all of their new signings. The handicap (and the table) proved decisive in 2 of the games, 1 point for the home win plus 1 bonus point for predicting that. 3 points for the correct result, luckily the firepower of the home team proved more effective than the use of the handicaps! The Horses cantered away to a 4-1 win, so 1 point for predicting the away win and a bonus point as Henry was the only winner for the Fish W which seems to support my suggestion that their other players will find this competition tough this year. Glynde Club (4800) have a bye this week The top ranked Glynde Club will not get any points tonight and will be bottom of the table at the end of the evening.... I don't think that any of the other tipsters picked up this opportunity to pick up an easy bonus point! BB Warrior - 12 points

Little Legs is next.... Plough v Cock With the handicaps having little effect in this one can see the Plough getting the season off to a good start with a 4 1 win. A 3-2 home win gives you a point to start with. Hospital Club v Laughing Fish K A difficult table for the Fish to overcome the handicaps but think they will come away happy with a 3 2 win. The table proved too difficult to overcome.... no points for the result but a bonus point for pointing out about the table. Albion v Hikers This game could depend on the draw and the use of Silent's jokers , after this week I'm sure Nigel will be given the 1400 handicap .Going for a 3 2 win for the home team . Spot on for the result for 3 points plus a bonus for highlighting the importance of the use of the jokers correctly. Laughing Fish W v Black Horse. The Black Horse to take advantage of 3 breaks and a small handicap lead to win 3 2. 1 point for predicting the away win. Little Legs - 7 points

How well did Gandalf wave his magic wand this week.... 1. Plough 3 - 2 Cock Richards scores have given the cock little advantage in this format, the homies just carving a big enough furrow Spot on for the result plus a bonus for the humour. 4 points here. 2. Hospital 3 - 2 K's K's big guns all need to perform, not an easy ask on the Hospital top, tough to call but will favour the homies Another 3 points for the correct result, plus a bonus with the Kippers "big guns" misfiring in 2 of the games. 3. Albion 2 - 3 Hikers The hikers climbing this little hillock with room to spare The Albion hill proved to be too steep for the back-packers.... no points here. 4. W's 2 - 3 Black Horse with a slight advantage and the jokers it should be only a small hurdle for the Black Horse to jump over 1 point for predicting the away win plus a jumping bonus for the humour. Gandalf - 10 points

BigTJ is next.... Plough to take a straight furrow to overcome the Ball Cocks 4-1 One point for the home win plus a humour bonus point as well. Hospital to need nurses to lick their wounds as the Kippers come to grips with the table for a 3-2 win The nurses seemed in short supply with the visitors in need of them last night.... 1 point only for the humour here. On the slope Albion to use their table advantage and overcome the back backing Hikers 3-2 Spot of for 3 points plus a bonus point as well. The LF Ws to find the uphill swim tough against the Black Horse who will hardly break out of a canter to win 4-1 One of only 2 of the tipster to see this result coming and a bonus point for the topical comments. Big TJ - 11 points

Now our Silent friend.... (2700) Plough Plumpton v Cock'n'Balls (2500) - Handicaps very close together, nice top at the Plough (if you don't get lost on the way - I blame the driver) Looking at previous form the league match was 3-2 so I go for that again - 3-2 Clearly Matthew has been closely studying the form guide and gains 3 points for the result.... plus a bonus point for successfully navigating his way to this thread! (2500) Hospital Club v Laughing Fish K (4700) - Had a quick look at the scores from the league encounter and the Fish didn't cover the handicaps so if Mr Chant is a wily fox and uses the them well I am confident of a home win as I think only 1 WC is in attendance, especially as James is playing well for the HC - 4-1 An each-way bet gives him 1 point for the home win with a bonus point as James top scored for the home side. (3400) Albion Brighton v Hikers Rest (4800) - Local 'punch-up' with a few grudges to settle Father and Daughter (1) in opposition and No 1 will surely win a game soon. Hikers know the table very well and even with the starts the 3 breaks to make the difference - 2-3 There could be a stewards enquiry for this prediction with the possibility of the draw being rigged since Father and Daughter 1 were drawn against each other.... but no points for the result so only a bonus for the humour this time. (3100) Laughing Fish W v Black Horse (2800) - At the Black Horse earlier in the season the home team won 3-2, they have to travel to the Fish but obviously get an extra break this time. Also, they get the 300 start in 3 legs, looks too obvious but going with the form book - 1-4 Your research certainly gave you 3 points here.... plus a bonus for the very detailed explanation of how you reached that conclusion. Silent - 11 points.

Okay, can we add some more bonus points from the results thread this week.... Geoff Fairs can have a 2 bonus points for the fantastic result he posted on the Lewes website.... Ros Appleby (0pt) 2210 18105 Bob Procter (J) (1pt) (J) = Joker played Great evening playing with the cock again. [Geoff Fairs] Clearly the Joker that was played was worth a lot.... but then maybe Geoff had just been "playing" too much when he put the result on the website.... Silent gave his normal very comprehensive and humorous report about the match.... Lana (1400) 2930 - 3450 Kev S** - Father against No 1 daughter, Kev missed early, Lana didn't pot a ball for ages, then had a really nice break going which she pegged, then another one that she pegged and another....... Blubbering%500 lines 'I must not peg in my game next week' Enjoyable evening, good match, nice food, good company......things did get fairly raucous as the evening went on (unsurprisingly). There was some strange happenings with Alan's food as it ended up on the floor, and Michelle had some sweets go missing (well they were eaten........) ......oh and Captain Kev beat his daughter and got his prediction right, but Silent had the last laugh with his awesome?? use of the handicaps securing victory .... and gains a bonus point for awarding one of his players 500 lines.... a special "raucous" bonus just for being himself.... and another point for giving Captain Kev respect for his correct prediction (not sure that you should have made it public that Kev beats his daughter though...!! Oooooooh) .... but he then LOSES points for his poor use of handicaps and eating Michelle's sweeties.... is nothing sacred Matthew???? Matthew also gains another bonus point for his humour here.... Is that the idea? Didn't have a clue just gave it to our 3 best players and hoped for the best......victory 'mission' completed and Legs Stoner failed in his 'mission' 3-2 to the Albion 3-2 to the Albion not a saying you hear very often at the Amex but far more regularly heard in the Lewes League. .... I am sure that Captain Kev would agree with him about that as well! We should also thank "Whatsername" for giving us the correct result of the Plough v Cock match.... Yup, pretty incredible! Especially managing to halve the 10 hole to get that odd 5..... I believe the correct score was 1810, but I can confirm that I got the win and the Plough won 3-2. .... although Matthew was quick to thank her on the thread anyway.... Still at least the computer gets your name right Ron, even if the score is wrong Clearly, Rob/Roy/Ron/Rog/Ros was very upset by the continued mistakes made about her name.... I forgot to mention that I had such a tantrum about everyone getting my name wrong that I threw a whole glass of red wine on the floor half way through my game, which smashed the glass. Thanks to Fenella and John Staplehurst for doing the mopping up! - Roy .... and gains 2 "sympathy" points for the loss of her wine on the night. But I guess that it could have been worse for Ros, I remember when I took over the running of the Sussex Website that for some reason her name was "Tony Temple" in those days.... at least that has now been sorted out properly!! Okay, bonus points awarded for this week.... Geoff Fairs: 2 Silent: 3-2+1+1 = 3 Whatsername (Ros): 3

There could be a stewards enquiry for this prediction with the possibility of the draw being rigged since Father and Daughter 1 were drawn against each other.... but no points for the result so only a bonus for the humour this time. Can't believe you could suggest we would rig the draw , but after Lana was drawn out first , it did take Matt 5 guesses before he found the right card

Can't believe you could suggest we would rig the draw , but after Lana was drawn out first , it did take Matt 5 guesses before he found the right card So, he is nearly as good at fixing the draw as he is at using the handicaps then.... I'm starting to get very apprehensive now about our game next week.

I am very pleased to see that the Headmaster has me top of the current standings I am so insulted by most of the responses that I cannot possibly reply to them all......... I do however give MISTER Ingram SIR 2 points for 'attempts' at humour Whistle%but I happily take off 3 because like Mr Stoner's efforts last night they FAILED
Mr Kevin Stoner is also subtracted 3 points for being a grass
Did I mention earlier my awesome use of the handicaps.......?!?!
