Here are my predictions.... (2800) Black Horse v Glynde Club (4800) The current League Cup leaders host the current League leaders in an interesting encounter. I don't expect many Christmas presents for the visitors especially as they have to give a good start to the rampaging stallions in three of the games. The flying Horses continue their good start in the League Cup with a 3-2 home win. (4800) Hikers Rest v Laughing Fish W (3100) The draw and use of their handicaps will be important to the visiting Fish if they are to get anything from this game with the back-packers tough to beat on their own top. A 3-2 home win looks most likely to me. (2500) Cock'n'Balls v Hospital Club (2500) No handicaps to worry about here so the home team will be looking to harden their resolve after a fairly flaccid performance in their first game, the visiting doctors and nurses will still be celebrating their win last week and won't get the same help from the table as they did then. A 3-2 win to lift the spirits for the home team. (4700) Laughing Fish K v Albion Brighton (3400) The Kippers will certainly be much happier back in their own pond and they will not be worried about the handicap difference here based on the visiting captains awesome performance in their first game! It will certainly be a very noisy night and Environmental Health may be asked to intervene on occasions. As to the game itself, an amazing line up of quality with 3 current world champions likely to be on display, 2 other national title holders and (of course) the current Brighton OTS champion. The home side could spring a surprise on the visitors with an unpexpected selection but it would not be "PC" for me to say more about that now. A 3-2 home win is the minimum that I would expect here. Plough Plumpton (2700) have a bye this week .... and remain unbeaten in this competition but still slide down the table a couple of places. Merry Christmas everybody.

(4700) Laughing Fish K v Albion Brighton (3400) 1) It will certainly be a very noisy night and Environmental Health may be asked to intervene on occasions. As to the game itself, an amazing line up of quality with 3 current world champions likely to be on display, 2 other national title holders and (of course) 2) the current Brighton OTS champion. 3) The home side could spring a surprise on the visitors with an unpexpected selection but it would not be "PC" for me to say more about that now. 4) A 3-2 home win is the minimum that I would expect here. 1) Correct 1 point, although mentioning the word 'raucous' would have got you a "Silent" bonus 2) For another 10 points, does anyone know who this is? 3) For another point and a bonus does anyone know who this is and is prepared to put in writing? 4) Incorrect 0 points and minus 1 point for what I considered a joke of a prediction LeaderboardLoserboard Dave 0 points BBW 0 points WC 0 points Sir Dave 0 points

Black Horse 3 Glynde 2

Hikers 4 Fish W 1
Henry to go big for the Fish but the home advantage to tell in the other games.
Cock 2 Hospital 3
No jokers in this one will see the the Eastbourne boys taking the points , Captain Stew to win a vital game.
Fish K 2 Albion 3
Safer to predict a very raucous evening than guessing the result , the mystery selection could change all tho.

Black Horse get a start from the Glynde and use of the handicap will be important, depends how the Glynde settling on the Horse table. my prediction is for this to go down to the wire. Eventually the Horse will prevail 3-2
Not much back packing for the Hikers as they are at their plaice this week and think the fish will have to swim uphill to to gain much here. Predict the Hikers will walk away with this 4-1 as the Fish flounder.
Cock will be singular this week as the balls are on the Christmas tree among the baubles, Hospital will have to overcome the handicap of being on an away table, but after operation Balls I think the hospital will come away with a 3-2 win.
The Kippers are smarting from their loss at the Hospital last week and will be looking to kick start their handicap campaign but the Albion will not be easy pickings so another close encounter that could depend very much on the draw but expect the fish to come out laughing and the Albion to be licking their wounds so a 4-1 home win and maybe a silent night for Christmas.
The Plough having a bye means they will have to make their own furrow straight and narrow, and ensure there is no stuffing.

Silent's predictions for Week 2:- (2800) Black Horse v Glynde Club (4800) - The Black Horse had an off night at Glynde in the League earlier in the season, but I think they can reverse that form at home and with 2k start in three of the legs - 3-2 Gandalf was very nice in congratulating the Bees of Brighton on their win in Inter-League last night otherwise I would have gone for 4-1 , but as friendliness gets you a long way I believe he will now win tonight (4800) Hikers Rest v Laughing Fish W (3100) - The Ws had a rest at the Hikers in the League match, can't see it being any different this time even with the starts - Legs is buoyant after his lucky win last Monday so might even win again - 4-1 (2500) Cock'n'Balls v Hospital Club (2500) - No need for an 'awesome' captain in this match as it is level starts. A lot depends on the personnel for the home team but as the HC don't travel too well I go for another home win - 3-2 (4700) Laughing Fish K v Albion Brighton (3400) - An array of stars on show in this one, with the home team having at least three superstars of the game in their line-up (the plot thickens with regard to the now missing mystery man/woman) we have one of our own but together the five of us make up the Awesome Albion, not awesome enough tonight even with some starts - 3-2 It will of course be fairly raucous in the Fish tonight with the Albion in town something I know that everyone is looking forward to Apparently you get a Brucie (Warrior) bonus if you mention that the Plough Plumpton have a bye tonight and will therefore not get any points

Time to do some marking.... A 3-2 home win gives me 3 points plus a bonus point for humour/topical comments and correctly predicting that the jokers would be so important. 4 points in total (4800) Hikers Rest v Laughing Fish W (3100) The draw and use of their handicaps will be important to the visiting Fish if they are to get anything from this game with the back-packers tough to beat on their own top. A 3-2 home win looks most likely to me. Not even the handicaps could save the floundering Fish from a 4-1 defeat. 1 point here. A 3-2 away win leaves the Cock seeking medical help and no points for me. 1 point for the correct result plus a bonus for the home team captain as he managed to overcome the "selection surprise" of one of his players pulling out at 7pm on match day and get a full team out. (Plough Plumpton (2700) have a bye this week .... and remain unbeaten in this competition but still slide down the table a couple of places. A bonus point for stating that the Plough are still unbeaten but moved down the table. Merry Christmas everybody. I should really award a bonus point for the topical greeting.... but as I feel more "Bah Humbug" at the moment so no bonus. Total points - 8

How did Gandalf get on this week.... Black horse 3 - 2 Glynde Club reckon the Jokers will make a huge difference in this match, should HALTer the Glynde clubs progress Spot on for 3 points plus a bonus for the humour and correctly identifying the importance of the jokers. 4 points Hikers Rest 4 - 1 W's Another home match should give the Hickers all they need overcome the jokers easily, with the fish ending in 2nd PLAICE Hmm, something FISHY going on here with Gandalf correctly predicting another result correctly.... 3 points plus 1 for humour. Cock 3 - 2 Hospital Who gets the jokers in this game?, Home advantage will be enough tonight either way the Cock will be ready to push home their advantage A limp performance for the wizard here though gives him no points. K's 3 - 2 Albion with the talent on show tonight it will be tough for the visitors, the kippers will be "smokin" A point for predicting a home win plus a smokin' bonus. Gandalf - 10 points

BigTJ is next.... Black Horse get a start from the Glynde and use of the handicap will be important, depends how the Glynde settling on the Horse table. my prediction is for this to go down to the wire. Eventually the Horse will prevail 3-2 Spot on for 3 points plus a joker bonus. Not much back packing for the Hikers as they are at their plaice this week and think the fish will have to swim uphill to to gain much here. Predict the Hikers will walk away with this 4-1 as the Fish flounder. TJ clearly has his marching boots on this week with another correct result plus a bonus for humour. Cock will be singular this week as the balls are on the Christmas tree among the baubles, Hospital will have to overcome the handicap of being on an away table, but after operation Balls I think the hospital will come away with a 3-2 win. Another correct result with another bonus point.... Wow.... full house for TJ with another correct result, plus a bonus point for the humour and for silencing the visiting captain. The Plough having a bye means they will have to make their own furrow straight and narrow, and ensure there is no stuffing. TJ even gains a topical bonus point here to complete the perfect week for him. TJ total points - 17

Did Little Legs have the right hiking boots on this week? Black Horse 3 Glynde 2 The handicaps will take effect in this one and the other Mr Knight will swoop late to win the decider. 3 points for the correct result, no bonus though as the "other" Mr Knight actually lost the last game! Hikers 4 Fish W 1 Henry to go big for the Fish but the home advantage to tell in the other games. 3 good points here plus a fishy bonus for Henry being the only winner. Cock 2 Hospital 3 No jokers in this one will see the the Eastbourne boys taking the points , Captain Stew to win a vital game. 3 more points for the correct result but no bonuses this time. Fish K 2 Albion 3 Safer to predict a very raucous evening than guessing the result , the mystery selection could change all tho. Wishful thinking perhaps hoping that the Kippers would flounder, no points for the result but a raucous bonus point for the safe bet that we had a "silent" Knight. Little Legs - 11 points

Time to be silent now.... (2800) Black Horse v Glynde Club (4800) - The Black Horse had an off night at Glynde in the League earlier in the season, but I think they can reverse that form at home and with 2k start in three of the legs - 3-2 Gandalf was very nice in congratulating the Bees of Brighton on their win in Inter-League last night otherwise I would have gone for 4-1 , but as friendliness gets you a long way I believe he will now win tonight 3 points for a correct result, no bonus points as Gandalf lost despite you being so kind about him. (4800) Hikers Rest v Laughing Fish W (3100) - The Ws had a rest at the Hikers in the League match, can't see it being any different this time even with the starts - Legs is buoyant after his lucky win last Monday so might even win again - 4-1 Spot on for 3 points plus a "legs" bonus point. (2500) Cock'n'Balls v Hospital Club (2500) - No need for an 'awesome' captain in this match as it is level starts. A lot depends on the personnel for the home team but as the HC don't travel too well I go for another home win - 3-2 No points for the result, but I will award an "awesome" bonus point just because it is nearly Christmas! (4700) Laughing Fish K v Albion Brighton (3400) - An array of stars on show in this one, with the home team having at least three superstars of the game in their line-up (the plot thickens with regard to the now missing mystery man/woman) we have one of our own but together the five of us make up the Awesome Albion, not awesome enough tonight even with some starts - 3-2 It will of course be fairly raucous in the Fish tonight with the Albion in town something I know that everyone is looking forward to 1 point for predicting the home win plus an "awesomely raucous" bonus point as it was a really enjoyable evening. Apparently you get a Brucie (Warrior) bonus if you mention that the Plough Plumpton have a bye tonight and will therefore not get any points Did you really think that I would let you get away with that? Is it nearly Christmas or something? To get a bonus point you have to either predict something not as obvious as not getting any points when you have a bye.... for example I pointed out that the Plough would remain unbeaten.... TJ was topical and said that there would be no stuffing. NO bonus point here Matthew. Silent - 10 points

Okay, I know that Silent has been looking forward to me adding in the bonus points for this week and I have (finally) found the time to do this. Black horse won 3-2 glad it's not my home table, it's the kind of table that makes you feel like taking up darts Now getting over my fit of angst so have posted the above for those who dont frequent the lewes web site Gandalf was clearly not impressed with the table that they played on and loses a point for having a grizzle about it.... but regains the lost point for (eventually) calming down and adding the scores here. A guest to our results thread also gains (unwittingly) a tipsters point for this observation.... Puddings!!? Blimey, you lot darn sarf are very posh..... .... welcome to the game Tony! Silent was clearly on the hunt for some bonus points with his match report.... Well the Awesome Albion were well and truly battered by the Fish last night but that didn't detract from a very enjoyable evening Highlights being the Christmas gifts being handed out, very tasty sausage casserole, awesome chocolate cakes for pudding (cheers Tony W), a great work of art from Dave (shame about the picture) and to end with just a brilliant master class from the 4 times World Champ but fair to say he was 'Jacked' when he had to part with the cash after Jack knocked both balls directly in the 200 from the break spots on only his third try . Nige was insisting on the way home that by 7.30am today he would have done this on his own table........?? .... which does gain the following points:- Silent - A battered bonus point, a bonus for providing the "awesome" chocolate cakes and a final sportsmanship bonus point for taking the poster in such good spirit and a final bonus for completing a Jim trick-shot on only his third attempt. BB Warrior - 3 bonus points for providing the "great work of art". 4timeschamp - a bonus point for the masterclass, sadly losing a point for saying that one shot "could not be done" only to watch young Jack do it 3rd attempt... but regaining a point for paying up (even though a bit of pressure had to be given by the others there!) NigelS - a point deducted for "forgetting" that he was going to do the same shot at home, that point regained for admitting (the following night) that the reason he forgot was that he had too much to drink at the match at the Fish! Little Legs gains a "Thingy" bonus point for his match report.... A good evening with the W's and a chicken stew thingy to end the evening specially for H. Silent sometimes refers to his awesome (in)ability to find his way to Lewes venues but had no problem getting to the Fish.... We are normally ok navigating on the way home, we knew part of the A27 was closed but the signs and the diversion routes made things...well a little tricky...... .... I am happy to leave the marking of this to his team mate Lana after Little Legs informed us of her opinion.... Thought Silent should have a bonus point for not getting lost en route to an away venue , but Lana said he should lose 2 points for the adventurous journey home .... so a point lost overall there Matthew! That brings us to this post, which I viewed in total astonishment.... My new list of hero's 1 Silent 2 Adam Ant 3 bbw Does this mean we get a 3-2 away win tip tonight? Regs cs No surprise perhaps that Silent is Gandalf's biggest hero.... ....nor that Adam Ant features more highly than I do on the same list.... .... but does he really expect anybody to tip them to win a game away from their own "lovely" table?? He does at least get a bonus point though for his efforts. Silent did (briefly) take over marking the thread at one stage with his own version of how he thinks that the job should be done.... 4) Incorrect 0 points and minus 1 point for what I considered a joke of a prediction LeaderboardLoserboard Dave 0 points BBW 0 points WC 0 points Sir Dave 0 points .... and gains a point for his overall humour here. I could easily have claimed 10 bonus points as I knew who was meant to turn out for us, but since a last minute change happened I would have had to forfeit that anyway. Which brings us to the last few bonuses about the brilliant performance by BigTJ in the competition this week.... TJ - Total Jenius this week he must be Truly Jubilant .... which gives each of them a bonus point this week. So, the following bonus points added at the end of a very busy week for the marker.... Gandalf: -1+1+1+1=+2 Barbelman: +1=+1 ent: +4+1-2+1+1=+5 Warrior: +3+10-10=+3 meschamp: +1-1=0 gelS: -1+1=0 ttle Legs: +1=+1 TJ: +1=+1 Here is the overall leaderboard after 2 weeks..... Player (Week 1 score, Week 2 score, Week 2 Bonus, Total) 1= BigTJ - 11 + 17 + 1 = 29 points 1= Silent - 14 + 10 + 5 = 29 points 3. BB Warrior - 12 + 8 + 3 = 23 points 4. Gandalf - 10 + 10 + 2 = 22 points 5. Little Legs - 7 + 11 + 1 = 19 points 6. Whatsername(Ros) - 3 + 0 + 0 = 3 points 7. Geoff Fairs - 2 + 0 + 0 = 2 points 8. Barbelman - 0 + 0 + 1 = 1 point 9= 4timeschamp - 0 + 0 + 0 = 0 points 9= NigelS - 0 + 0 + 0 = 0 points
