First in this week. Hospital Club v Plough. With just a 200 handicap to overcome the away team to come away with a 3 2 victory. Glynde Club v Hikers All even tonight ,after a fully rested fortnight the Hikers can stroll to a 3 2 victory. Albion v Cock Inn The Cock receive a 900 start but playing the last game at the game will inspire the home team to a 3 2 win. Laughing Fish W v Laughing Fish K The Kippers have to give a 1600 start to the Whitebait but if Henry has the table at it's best they can overcome it for a 4 1 victory.Maybe a surprise guest to make an appearance this week . No game for the Black Horse this week so they will slip from top spot.

The hospital should after taking their medicine, recover their composure and end up with a positive prognosis if the consultant operates and removes the faulty organs. The plough may not be able to keep on the straight and narrow for long enough to keep their hands on the reins in this match, the possible new table may not be in place yet, l believe its not a Tarratt so we will have to await the good/bad news with interest 3-2 home win Hikers will have trouble reaching the right summit tonight, the home team should G lrind out a result even though we know the table will be moved for the new year celebrations 3-2 home win The Albion get the Cock in tonight. The cock need their hardened players to come good, especially needing their Dick Wootton riding high, a no show will give the homies the advantage they need and cause the Cocks ardour to soften, very tricky to call not knowing who is playing with the Cock... team tonight but will go for a 3-2 home win again W's v K's the k's remain in the right plaice again playing as an away team , reckon Henry might drown in the briney tonight giving the k's a chance of a 5-0 but again it depends who's fishing tonight and who's angling for an advantage on the banks (noticed that one of their cushions is different form the rest at my last visit) depends who's presentation is best on the night, but will hedge my bets and go for a 4-1 away win for the k's The Black Horse will be staying in the stables tonight, might be worth cantering down to flats and checking out the going, but wont be tempted to expect much progress or to place a bet here

(2,500) Hospital Club v Plough (2,700) The Plough team will probably be seeking medical assistance (or even calling the Samaritans) after enduring the long drive east and facing the rampant doctors on a table that is in definite need of either a serious operation or (preferably) euthanasia! A 3-2 home win looks likely in a low-scoring match. (4,800) Glynde Club v Hikers Rest (4,800) After Gandalf's recent criticism of an away table, I am expecting to see some big scores on his own home table which obviously must be superb now? No advantage in handicaps here so the back-packers will be hoping that their captain will stretch his legs and lead them to victory but they will fall short (like his legs) as the home team take a hard fought 3-2 win. (3,400) Albion Brighton v Cock n Balls (2,500) Have the Cock got the Balls to pick up their first win in this competition this season at the home of the quietest team in the League? A reasonable advantage in 3 of the games should give them a good chance and I think that they could come away with a 3-2 win on the night. (3,100) Laughing Fish W v Laughing Fish K (4,700) The Kippers will be smoking after their previous win and will be trying to swim further up the table while the Whitebaits will be hoping that someone other than Henry can win a leg in this format, with a reasonable advantage in 3 of the games this is probably their best chance to catch a big'un! A 3-2 away win seems the best choice, anything else would be a rather fishy result. Black Horse (2,800) have a bye this week. A night off for the stallions who finished the last year as the stars at the top of the Christmas tree!

Starting with the Black Horse on a bye and time to take to the pastures for a gallop to shake of those Xmas and New year excess.
Hospital may be nursing a new years hang over but the Plough will not be able to over come the table and cannot keep on the straight and narrow furrrow so the Hospital will come away with a 3-2 win
Albion in their venue Swan song will make a triumphant noise and will take the Cocks b*lls 3-2
A local derby involving fishes rather than horses, the home team winkles will not have the power to catch out the King Prawns and the away team will angle to a 4-1 win.

Some quite awful 'puns' from the previous tipsters has found me wanting to be 'silent' for this weeks tips but simply not possible ...so here goes:- Black Horse have a bye this week.....they will not get any points as nobody gets any points when they have a bye (2,500) Hospital Club v Plough (2,700) - we have not had the pleasure of playing at the Hospital so cannot comment on their table, neither have the Plough so could be in for a shock. James seems to play this table well so I go for a 4-1 home win and him to be the top scorer (4,800) Glynde Club v Hikers Rest (4,800) - level handicaps so no need for an 'awesome' captain although the home team have a new cap for England and he beat me last night so must be b....y brilliant If he repeats the dose in the Sussex Singles on Sunday I won't be nice to him anymore though.......Sorry should get onto the predictions, think it could be pretty noisy as the away team captain was on fine form at the Brighton B Inter-League match last night (we were rubbish) when his team were playing and winning elsewhere without him!!!!!!! Waffling on (again) so I go for a 3-2 win for the home team (3,100) Laughing Fish W v Laughing Fish K (4,700) - So many Laughing Fishes in one room, what on earth could happen with all that wit and humour!?!?!? Anyway a 1600 start in 3 matches against the likes of Lelliott and Millward, not forgetting the WC (and they get 3 breaks!!) is nowhere near enough. They may have a mystery guest just as long as 'Mr Happy' (see Neil 'Hurricane' Higgins post on the Worthing cup thread) is not called from his bed at 6.50 they will be fine....Henry to win for the home team, come on Ray get a grip and help the poor lad out 1-4 Leaving the best till last (ever game at the Albion) (3,400) Albion Brighton v Cock n Balls (2,500) - starting with apologies to our visitors but we are not often raucous but might be as this is the last game ever at the Albion I will give Kev Stoner a bonus point for his quote 'they played there for 25 years, we (I) play there for half a season and it closes Cheers Kev and the grass in the Stoner house about the driving home from the last match ...cheers Larn Anyway the away team have a nice 900 advantage in 3 legs and if using them wisely could spoil the party but we may just have someone winning their first match of the season for us or a 'Jack' so I go for 3-2 to bring the house down (well not literally) at the Albion Finally, TJ the total jenius and current leader is so confident that he has only tipped in 3 matches.....come on Tone we are not that bad that you need to take pity on us...surely

Oh dear dementia again for the old codger well will have to settle for what I get and hey ho always another week to catch up, but I do hear there were numerous complaints about the noise from the Albion last evening, I did say surely not with such a sedate lot being there. Always an uphill struggle for the Albion with their captain marvelous.

The first to be marked as well then. Hospital Club v Plough. With just a 200 handicap to overcome the away team to come away with a 3 2 victory. The visitors ploughed their way to a triumphant 4-1 victory giving you just 1 point here. Glynde Club v Hikers All even tonight ,after a fully rested fortnight the Hikers can stroll to a 3 2 victory. Sadly the hikers boot laces were tied together leaving them tripping to a 3-2 defeat.... no points here. Albion v Cock Inn The Cock receive a 900 start but playing the last game at the game will inspire the home team to a 3 2 win. The home team were inspired (no doubt boosted by their awesome Captain) and achieved a magnificent 4-1 win to give you just 1 point here. Laughing Fish W v Laughing Fish K The Kippers have to give a 1600 start to the Whitebait but if Henry has the table at it's best they can overcome it for a 4 1 victory.Maybe a surprise guest to make an appearance this week . Sadly, the only guests were surprisingly unpleasant visiting Toad players, but a 3-2 away win gives you 1 point. No game for the Black Horse this week so they will slip from top spot. Yes, the slipped down the League Cup table to 4th place but are only 2 points off the lead with a game in hand. A bonus point for being the first to tip this. Little Legs - 4 points

Gandalf next.... The hospital should after taking their medicine, recover their composure and end up with a positive prognosis if the consultant operates and removes the faulty organs. The plough may not be able to keep on the straight and narrow for long enough to keep their hands on the reins in this match, the possible new table may not be in place yet, l believe its not a Tarratt so we will have to await the good/bad news with interest 3-2 home win The Hospital Club received some of their own medicine with the Plough hitting top form. 1 bonus point for humour only. Hikers will have trouble reaching the right summit tonight, the home team should G lrind out a result even though we know the table will be moved for the new year celebrations 3-2 home win After the complaints about the away table in their last match perhaps it is understandable that excuses were being made in advance for their own home table.... .... 3 points for correct result prediction. The Albion get the Cock in tonight. The cock need their hardened players to come good, especially needing their Dick Wootton riding high, a no show will give the homies the advantage they need and cause the Cocks ardour to soften, very tricky to call not knowing who is playing with the Cock... team tonight but will go for a 3-2 home win again It's lucky that "Dick" Wooton is not marking this as you would surely have lost points for the extra "T" in his name.... .... one point for predicting a home win and a bonus for ardourous humour. W's v K's the k's remain in the right plaice again playing as an away team , reckon Henry might drown in the briney tonight giving the k's a chance of a 5-0 but again it depends who's fishing tonight and who's angling for an advantage on the banks (noticed that one of their cushions is different form the rest at my last visit) depends who's presentation is best on the night, but will hedge my bets and go for a 4-1 away win for the k's 1 point for correctly predicting the away win plus a bonus point for your excellent observation skills. The Black Horse will be staying in the stables tonight, might be worth cantering down to flats and checking out the going, but wont be tempted to expect much progress or to place a bet here I could be mean and say "neigh" points here.... but it's probably worth a bonus so I will be kind. Okay, me next.... No points for the result.... but I think a bonus point can be awarded for correctly predicting a low scoring match on this table! It's strange how an away table can be "diabolical" and in the next home game you can describe your own table as "not perfect but made for an interesting match" when there is only about 4k difference in the total scores of those 2 matches? No big scores really but 3 points for the correct result and a bonus point for humour. The Cock dropped their Balls on the night, a "Silent" bonus only for me here. 3 points for the correct result here. Black Horse (2,800) have a bye this week. A night off for the stallions who finished the last year as the stars at the top of the Christmas tree! Oh dear, this was so corny that it isn't really worth a bonus point.... BB Warrior - 9 points

BigTJ next.... Starting with the Black Horse on a bye and time to take to the pastures for a gallop to shake of those Xmas and New year excess. Slips in an early bonus point for topical humour. Hospital may be nursing a new years hang over but the Plough will not be able to over come the table and cannot keep on the straight and narrow furrrow so the Hospital will come away with a 3-2 win Another tipster caught out by the shock result of the night, a consolation bonus point only. Albion in their venue Swan song will make a triumphant noise and will take the Cocks b*lls 3-2 .... that sounds painful! Worth a point for predicting the home victory. A local derby involving fishes rather than horses, the home team winkles will not have the power to catch out the King Prawns and the away team will angle to a 4-1 win. 1 point for the away win and a bonus for the humour. Something seems to be missing.... .... how could TJ forget the Glynde v Hikers match? Ah yes, this explains it.... Oh dear dementia again for the old codger well will have to settle for what I get and hey ho always another week to catch up, but I do hear there were numerous complaints about the noise from the Albion last evening, I did say surely not with such a sedate lot being there. Always an uphill struggle for the Albion with their captain marvelous. .... and earns TJ a bonus point as well. BigTJ - 6 points

That just leaves Matthew.... as always there is plenty of quantity... ....so let us examine the quality! Some quite awful 'puns' from the previous tipsters has found me wanting to be 'silent' for this weeks tips but simply not possible ...so here goes:- Absolutely no chance of being silent.... but a bonus point for admitting it! Black Horse have a bye this week.....they will not get any points as nobody gets any points when they have a bye I can't argue with the reasoning behind this... but (yet again) no bonus point for simply stating the obvious. (2,500) Hospital Club v Plough (2,700) - we have not had the pleasure of playing at the Hospital so cannot comment on their table, neither have the Plough so could be in for a shock. James seems to play this table well so I go for a 4-1 home win and him to be the top scorer Only a couple of weeks until you have the "pleasure" of visiting the table there, perhaps the new table will be installed by then if you are lucky! No points for the result and with James being 2nd lowest scorer overall I can't even offer you a bonus point. (4,800) Glynde Club v Hikers Rest (4,800) - level handicaps so no need for an 'awesome' captain although the home team have a new cap for England and he beat me last night so must be b....y brilliant If he repeats the dose in the Sussex Singles on Sunday I won't be nice to him anymore though.......Sorry should get onto the predictions, think it could be pretty noisy as the away team captain was on fine form at the Brighton B Inter-League match last night (we were rubbish) when his team were playing and winning elsewhere without him!!!!!!! Waffling on (again) so I go for a 3-2 win for the home team Good grief, so much content that I nearly fell asleep reading it! 3 points for correctly predicting the result and a waffle bonus point as well. (3,100) Laughing Fish W v Laughing Fish K (4,700) - So many Laughing Fishes in one room, what on earth could happen with all that wit and humour!?!?!? Anyway a 1600 start in 3 matches against the likes of Lelliott and Millward, not forgetting the WC (and they get 3 breaks!!) is nowhere near enough. They may have a mystery guest just as long as 'Mr Happy' (see Neil 'Hurricane' Higgins post on the Worthing cup thread) is not called from his bed at 6.50 they will be fine....Henry to win for the home team, come on Ray get a grip and help the poor lad out 1-4 Not much laughter sadly to report on but 1 point for predicting an away win and a special "Ray of Sunshine" bonus for predicting the other winner for the home team. Leaving the best till last (ever game at the Albion) (3,400) Albion Brighton v Cock n Balls (2,500) - starting with apologies to our visitors but we are not often raucous but might be as this is the last game ever at the Albion I will give Kev Stoner a bonus point for his quote 'they played there for 25 years, we (I) play there for half a season and it closes Cheers Kev and the grass in the Stoner house about the driving home from the last match %" text=" " />...cheers Larn Anyway the away team have a nice 900 advantage in 3 legs and if using them wisely could spoil the party but we may just have someone winning their first match of the season for us or a 'Jack' so I go for 3-2 to bring the house down (well not literally) at the Albion 1 point for correctly predicting a home win plus a bonus point for overall humour. Finally, TJ the total jenius and current leader is so confident that he has only tipped in 3 matches.....come on Tone we are not that bad that you need to take pity on us...surely A bonus point for kindly pointing out that a player had missed a prediction. Silent - 10 points Finally, I am happy to accept your recommendation for a bonus point for another tipster.... (3,400) Albion Brighton v Cock n Balls (2,500) - starting with apologies to our visitors but we are not often raucous but might be as this is the last game ever at the Albion I will give Kev Stoner a bonus point for his quote 'they played there for 25 years, we (I) play there for half a season and it closes Cheers Kev and the grass in the Stoner house about the driving home from the last match %" text=" " />...cheers Larn Anyway the away team have a nice 900 advantage in 3 legs and if using them wisely could spoil the party but we may just have someone winning their first match of the season for us or a 'Jack' so I go for 3-2 to bring the house down (well not literally) at the Albion Little Legs - 1 bonus point

What other bonus points can we award this week.... Nice anticipated home win tonight, table was in the corner and when placed on its markers there was a 3 inch roll to the right, did our best to rectify before our guests arrived, not perfect but at least we tried. Gandalf can have a bonus point for trying to improve their table.... only a 3 inch roll to the right is an improvement! While Matthew gains a bonus point for his wonderful report, especially this bit.... There were also some sights never to be forgotten, most of which couldn't be spoken about here except the guy with the biggest shoes I have ever seen The pattern on them looked like a tiger, dear oh dear .... a further bonus point will be awarded to anybody (apart from Matthew) actually explaining what on earth he is talking about here because I simply haven't got a clue???? Okay, so here are the points awarded for this week.... Silent - 10 + 1 bonus = 11 points Gandalf - 9 + 1 bonus = 10 points BB Warrior - 9 points BigTJ - 6 points Little Legs - 4 + 1 bonus = 5 points Here is the overall leaderboard after 3 weeks..... Player (Points carried foward, Week 3 score, Week 3 Bonus, Total) 1. Silent - 29 + 10 + 1 = 40 points 2. BigTJ - 29 + 6 + 0 = 35 points 3= BB Warrior - 23 + 9 + 0 = 32 points 3= Gandalf - 22 + 9 + 1 = 32 points 5. Little Legs - 19+ 4 + 1 = 24 points 6. Whatsername(Ros) - 3 + 0 + 0 = 3 points 7. Geoff Fairs - 2 + 0 + 0 = 2 points 8. Barbelman - 0 + 0 + 1 = 1 point 9= 4timeschamp - 0 + 0 + 0 = 0 points 9= NigelS - 0 + 0 + 0 = 0 points Many thanks to all that are taking part.

spose the main difference is i try to do something about it, looking forward to playing BBW on the Black horse top shortly I know that you do Colin, whereas it seems that some home teams simply do not give a damn about the condition of their table and some actively don't want to improve it or make it play well. Looks like we have to arrange 2 games as we have drawn each other again in another Worthing League competition as well!
