Game 1 Gareth started well and built up speed as he went along to finish with a brilliant table play out of 25,380 to record a new personal best. Game 2 Another superb table play out by Geoff to record his personal best score. Game 3 Nigel started quickly going for a big score but broke down, Sue got the balls back and ran the table out with 16.3k. Game 4 Glenn broke down on 2.4k and the balls stayed at the back for a while before Marcus got the break back, he made a very steady break of 8.7k before coming off leaving Glenn just under 5 minutes to try to catch him.... Glenn flew to victory as the bar dropped in a very good game. Game 5 Chris was flying from the very start and was on track for about 26k before catching a split thick and coming off at the back of the table on 15.8k in just over 12 minutes, it took me a few shots to get the balls back and I then finished the game off. 108,870 points scored in 5 legs.... a new Sussex Team record. A personal best for Gareth who became only the 4th player in Sussex history to make a 25k break. A personal best for Geoff who joins the Sussex 20k Club. A very enjoyable evening with plenty of banter between all of the players, table playing superbly and a nice spread of burgers and hot dogs provided by Gina.

West Hill 2-3 Blue Anchor A (at YO Black Horse) Dave 300 - 10,300 Malcolm** **Mick W 9080 - 0 Molly Colin 4710 - 5440 Matt** **Mick P 7900 - 800 TJ Tupps 1880 - 8240 Rick** No records but an excellent and enjoyable evening with the West Hill old boys If I am right (and I know that Mal will correct me ) two breaks were required to win all the legs. Mal went off with 4.5k, Dave couldn't get the balls back and Mal had a second break of 5k+ to win. Mick W went off with 2k, there was some play at the back of the table. Mick got them back and got another 6k. I didn't get many off my break, there was quite a long period of play at the top end of the table, Smithy first to get them back with plenty of 'luck' and ran in a 4k break before missing. That left me just enough time to be 'lucky', get the break back and win the leg Mick P tells me he made a 3.5k break, TJ got them back quickly and got a dreadful kiss first break shot (no 'luck' for the Jenneral as Colin said I had used it all up for our team!!!!!!!!!!!) which sent the red nowhere. Popey got the break back and ran in enough for the win. Rick struggled to begin with, coming off with 1.5k, Tupps try as might could not get the break back, Rick did and made a very nice 6.5k break to give us victory Plenty of banter, Tupps and his 'colleagues' disappointed with their defeat It would have been a greater margin of victory if Mick Pope had not used the magic beer mat to 'brush' the table before the match

Romans 2 - Wellie 3
No scores to hand Richard went on first and struggled on a table he didn't know. I think he would have still won even if his opponent hadn't taken out the black twice. 0-1 I went on against Ross. I somehow managed to get just under 3k. Unfortunately for me Ross played much better scoring that most of the night with 5.5k. 1-1 Nick hasn't picked up a cue for around 6 weeks and it showed playing Dave R. 2-1 Tim beat Alan in a close game that wouldn't have been quite so close had Alan not taken out the black early in the game. 2-2 Garry went on against Peter who seemed to have no luck what so ever. Garry took advantage and scored the 2nd highest of the night with 5k. 2-3

Knowing full well that Gary will take the p£$s out of me, due to be slightly tired and emotional last night I have forgotten to bring the score card with me but wins for Chelle and Jean for the home tema and Moppy, Bob and Gary for the away team. Despite both losing it was good to see Lana and Sam playing so well last night. Their improvement this season has been immense.
I'll put the scores up tomorrow.
