Well.....was hoping to post a report, but this one was obviously put off as well, as Margo and I found to our cost (=wasted 30 mile round journey). Still, it allowed us the opportunity to re-acquaint ourselves with the vagaries of the Railway table !

Railway 3 The Bull 2 Dave 5,020 Pete*5,070 Thought we had this one, Dave a couple of K in front, super break from Pete at the end.
Boggy*1,840 Derek 7,370 Very nice game from Pete, Boggy not getting going.
Skippy 4,690 Andy*4,380 Skippy giving us some hope in another close game.
Dave/Mick* 6,410 Andy/Derek 2,140 Both Dave and I making decent(ish) breaks, nothing going for Andy and Derek.
Skippy/Boggy 6,470 Lorraine/Pete 850 Mark and Adam to strong in the last game, someone said the tide had turned and it had.
So the Railway snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, I honestly thought we were gone after the first two games. Many thanks to the Blue Ship for hosting.

Still, it allowed us the opportunity to re-acquaint ourselves with the vagaries of the Railway table ! I do hope the table was not to disgusting, we normally suffer with vagrants not vagaries.

The Blue Sip 2 3 Albion B
A great fun night with the Blue Ship, good to meet up have a chat plenty of laughs, banter and a very well fought game, unlucky to the Ship who went two up, but were pegged back to lose 3-2. All games could have gone either way. All games even break
Mick Johnson 2210 1990 Steve Aylmore Both off early, then nip and tuck with Mick on the table at the right time.
Ding Johnson 1480 1380 Tony Jenner Both not much on the opener, Ding got them back built 600 lead, TJ 500 at the top and on the table when bar went but did not clear up, Ding left it that she needed 100 to draw and 200 to win, TJ missed 100, Ding missed 200, TJ rimmed 100, Ding 200 to win.
Simon Bailey 1020 4380 Rick Cunningham Followed suit both off early, Rick 2.5k break and kept the lead.
Ding and Steve Holden 2430 2950 Tony and Steve Nip and Tuck all the way when as bar went TJ actually did something and made telling 350 break.
Mick and Simon BP 3530 Rick and James Whittle Rick and James built 2k lead and stayed there, Mick black pegging on the last ball but it was all over.
Thanks to the club for sandwiches and again to the Blue Ship for a great evening.

Roffey H 3 Southwater 2 Rob Jones 2920 Tony Temple 1500 Stu Carruthers 3940 Mel Blake 3520 Iain Tarrant 2200 Tony Franks 6180 Rob Jones/Steve Hopkins 4410 Tony Temple/Ray Manser 1320 Stu Carruthers/Iain Tarrant 1570 Tony Franks/Mel Blake 4180 Table Report (sponsored by Mick Clack): Still not sure we played this in the correct pub. The table caught out all players at some stage in their game as it played like a normal table.... it was not downhill and at no stage did the ball drift right!! It would definitely get it's higher ever CaT Scan rating, I may have been dreaming but I'm pretty sure that at one stage I even spotted a player successfully getting the 50/100 split. Thanks to Clacky for spending a long time getting the table playing so well. Shame it will be moved around and then require resetting all over again. Hope you can return to "fix" it back to normal standards before we start the league

Well played Sam and Stu for Roffey and Tony F for the CC.
