Railway 3 Three Compasses 2 Adam 4,540 Adam 1,130 Good game form Adam, unlucky one from Adam.
Sniffer 3,060 Andy 3,420 Close game Andy deserved to take it.
Stu 6,640 Carl 860 Stuart making a nice 3K break at the end.
Boggy 1,100 Jason 2,980 Boggy losing more than enough to win, Jason just kept on accumulating.
Clacky 4,660 Adam 1,040 * (4 player rule) Adam playing enough shots to prove he will become a decent player.
A splendid evening with the Three Compasses, many thanks for the very nice sarnies from the Blue Ship to finish off.

The Mill 2 Springbok Club 3
Barry 1720 Trevor 2200 Both players had difficulty with the break, but eventually Trevor managed to put a decent score together. Barry worked hard to get the balls back from the bottom of the table, but it was not an easy task and Trevor crept over the line.
Johnny 2980 Gary BP
Johnny flew out the blocks taking the wind out of Gaz's sails. Johnny had the measure of the table from the start and put the young one under pressure. Gaz eventually got going and worked hard to get to within 200 of his opponent, sadly the BP got in the way.
Vicky 2190 Robin 2710 Rob left the split short and Vicky stepped in to tear ahead. Rob was made to work very hard and both players accumulated and lost decent scores on the way. Time worked for Rob in the end with a decent break and the bar dropping.
Alan 2050 Mike 1880 Another close game that saw Alan take the initial lead putting pressure on Mike. Mike got to grips with the table and was never far off Alan's back. As the bar dropped Mike had an opportunity to nick it but the balls dropped into the holes just when he wanted them to stay up for the bigger score.
Mick BP Robin 3550 (4 player rule) Mick started well and put a decent score up, Rob dug deep to claw his was back in, both players were experiencing a difficult time with the table, more so poor Mick who was doing everything to take the point. It was left to the last ball again, with the BP getting in the way.
A decent night, with some very close games. Either team would have been worthy winners. The food provided was fantastic, as is the refurbishment of the pub.

A good assessment of the evening, thanks Trevor and good luck to your team. Two defeats by the Springbok already this season, what fate awaits us in the second half ? Tasty shepherd's pie at the end, and as you say, pub undergoing massive refurbishment which will look impressive when finished. On a different note: obviously in sympathy to my 'man flu' my car started running rough as we approached home, just made it back to Johnny Haigh's house: resurfacing stretch/ ramp and speed humps in Bewbush didn't help and tyre was completely shredded. In "car hospital" at present.**up and running again by 4pm today with a new Bridgestone....many thanks to RAC Recovery and Fleet Services Ltd.

Limeburners 5 Stout House F 0 Bill Hammond 3690 Dave Simmons 3100 John Miller 7100 Colin Bolton 2280 Rick Langridge 4280 Grant Hope 3240 Dick Dewdney 5640 Scott Hope 2140 Chip Sawyer 7330 Keith Etheridge 200 Game 1: Dave got one over on the unsuspecting Billy Onions by keeping his nose in front most of the way and making it look as though he couldn't get the break back. Game 2: Junkie fell for it too as Colin gave him loads of chances early on. By the time he realised what Colin was up to, it was too late. Game 3: Rick started well. Grant almost came back too strong at the end but managed to reel it in in time. Game 4: Masterclass from Scott on how to lead the game half way then coax Dude Sr. into going for it. Game 5: I don't know what Keith was thinking on this one! We told him not to make it look too obvious! Well our cunning plan worked! We have yet again successfully qualified for the Plate competition. We do however wish The Limeburners team success, albeit in the lesser of the two competitions!
