Albion A 1-4 County Oak
Mal 1550 - 10,880 Ian** - Ian off at 4k, Mal break back, 1 up behind early on and then Ian made 6k more **Matt 15,390 - 1060 Marcus - I made 8k then off with awkward 1 up. Marcus balls back but off early. I made some more with 2 more breaks TJ 3590 - 11,620 Gareth** - Gareth off on 50, TJ going well on 3.5k when left 1 up short. Gareth 10k break with a few deep breaths on the way **Rick 4770 - 11,380 Chris - Rick starting well but left both balls up on split. Chris 9k and touch for the win H 40 - 9290 Nigel** - Nigel tanking along with 13k, whipped a split and then pegged next shot moving it. H didn't get them back, Nige did with 9.2k break
Think we let an opportunity slip by tonight. Enjoyable evening nonetheless with plenty of banter and chat

Duke of Wellington v Hollingbury A Chris Wheeler 1580 v Bob Thomas 1230 Pam Chatterton 410 v Brian Bartrum 2140 Garry Frizzel 3790 v Colin Green 1830 Could not play 4 player rule as Duke of Wellington only had two players to choose from, so agreed a drawn game. Duke of Wellington 3/1/2 Hollingbury A 1/1/2l This table must achieve the accolade of being the worst table in Brighton League. Unless you know of a better qualifier. Lanlord wants to get rid of it. Team already looking for another venue. 5th November approaching and the Landlord is anticipating having a celebration on bonfire night. The burning of the table.

If so, I suppose that the last game (5th) could have been shown as a draw but surely a 4th leg could have been played with names drawn as usual? If one team had 4 players and the other 3 players, then I think that the team with 3 players should have used the 4 player rule to play against the 4th player and the team with 4 players could have used the 4 player rule to claim the last game? Perhaps a member of Committee could clarify what should have happened here?

Team already looking for another venue. 5th November approaching and the Landlord is anticipating having a celebration on bonfire night. The burning of the table. PS. I hope that Nigel knows about this as it is his table..... It is also one of the highest scoring tables in Worthing League and the current home of the champions in that League so I would humbly suggest that the table can be one of the best tables around once it has been brushed, ironed and checked that it is in the right place as it is moved slightly on occasions.

This must be the same awful table I had this game on against Martin Smith a couple of weeks back Nigel Senior 9,570 - 5,150* Martin Smith A 4.8k opener for Martin, Nigel got the balls back straight away and touched on 9.4k to level the match. 1-1 Well you would expect a game of this quality from the Worthing Masters finalists after all, and although the table was unplayable we were disappointed not to get more..... If the home team does nothing to the table before the match, dont expect it to be good, I have said time and time again brush the cushion and iron it and it will play better but hey...... Now if the landlord wants rid of the table maybe he should speak to the owner ie me. But having not seen him this season I guess he has not had the chance to speak to me....... As for what happened re 4 player rule, we need to know how many players each team had here???

Even after 20 plus years of playing this game I still get nervous at times. To watch Jack play first on an away table and be so cool and calm was a real pleasure to see. For Lana to play and win the decider despite being short of match practice was also great for us. At least I was another youngster to win!!!!!

Until then the fixture will not be recorded in the league tables and results Following a Committee Meeting held on Tuesday 24th November 2015 the decision is that the result of this match be recorded as a 3-2 win for the Duke of Wellington. The League Tables have been updated from Week 7 to show this decision. A reminder to everyone that a draw for the 4 player rule MUST take place before the match begins with all eligible names going into the hat. It was agreed that if someone has to leave early then the order of play can be changed slightly to accommodate this. If both teams only have four players the break in the 4 player leg always goes to the away team.
