Another night of high scores on the Fishersgate Flying Machine.... and a first defeat of the season for the League leaders. Game 1 - Martin opened with 9,760, Tupps didn't get the balls back leaving Martin time to lose a 4k break and keep another 3k+ at the end. 1-0 Game 2 - Nigel was out of the blocks quickly and firing on all cylinders to hit the new Worthing High Away break, just missing out on 25k when he left the one up short with 4 white balls remaining. 1-1 Game 3 - A new PB for me but not close to catching Nigel's score!! 1-2 Game 4 - Tony off on 1.8k, Matt made a good break of just under 7k but came off leaving Tony just enough time to run in 6k to level the match. 2-2 Game 5 - Mal pushed an early one-up behind but was first to get the balls back and added another 7k. Mark no luck in getting the balls back and Mal made sure with another break before Mark played it out. 2-3 A really enjoyable evening, good company and a superb banquet of chinese food supplied by Gina who always looks after us brilliantly.

Swan Nomads 3 v 2 Smugglers B
Nick Brown** 10,080 v 1320 Dave White Tony Burgess 960 v 7010 Bob Osborne** Paul Barnett 6230 v 5730 Phil Osborne** Gary Ridley** 7610 v 6010 Colin Southouse Neil Higgins 3300 v 10,710 Mike Daw**
Great night at the Swan with plenty of noise banter with "a nice table"
Nick opened with 6k+ giving Dave a small sniff but he failed to get the scent Bob opened with 3.5k Tony unable to cut to the chase Phil opened with 5.5k Paul replied with a 5k of his own, Paul, who had the run of the balls got the break back 1st and just did enough in this pivotal game Gary opened with 3k+ Colin left his 1 up behind the 50 leaving Gary to amass a 6k lead, Colin made a valiant high speed 5k+ chase with everyone checking their stopwatches but unexpectedly came off with a 1 up behind the 50 again (DOH DOH DOH) which left Gary to play out. Mike was off on 2k but Neil failed to punish him leaving Mike to hog the rest of the game scoring a safe 9K+ break.

Good evening at the Marine and the score line does not reflect what could have been some close games, Rick getting the 200 to win, others in doubt until the last minute.

I doubt if there has ever been a truer word spoken on the Forum.... as it looks as if they score line should have been 5-0 to Albion B rather than the other way around as shown above!
