Railway 2, The Mill 3 Let's do the food first: Stella served up - for each team - Hot chilli con carne; chicken wings; fish fingers with mayo; quiche; cocktail sausages; potato wedges; onion bhajias; and something that looked similar to miniature scotch eggs which Mick said were the 'dogs bollocks'. Oh the match, well could've been 4-1 to them as both Alan and myself won on the last ball. But then Barry very profligate in the last losing two good breaks (as if Adam needed any help !) Clacky 3400, Alan 3490 Stuart 1020, Mr Mike 3710 Boggy 2470, tommo 2490 Sammy 2290, Johnny 520 Sk1ppy 3270, Barry 720Second game a bit of a 'Mare for Stuart as Mick lost an early 2k and got stuck in again..... Table very playable tonight, and, as ever, a great evening spent in the company of the Railway boys.

For the first time this season, the Mighty A team lived up to their name, if not reputation
Pete H 0 Jim 18,360 Jim played the table out Pete T 1,790 Pete F 7,410 Pete F started with a steady 6k break, and at this stage things did not look good for the Mighty A Team Yours Truly 3,800 Twig 3,170 Twig took an early 2k lead, then I overtook. After that the lead changed a number of times but with the red disappearing as the bar went, I touched up to keep a 700 lead Chelsea 1,590 Dick 1,210 To be honest an awful game with the winner being decided by who hit the fewest pegs, Chelsea probably hit the most white pegs but a black peg midway through the game did not help Dick's cause
So to the surprise of everybody, and to the delight of the Home team we had a "Desmond"
Tony 3,690 Moose 3,270 Moose started with a 2k break, but a 2k break by Tony at the end of the game gave him a small advantage when the bar dropped. Despite his best efforts the red ball refused to disappear, but was potted into the 100 hole at the first attempt by Tony
A good night was had by all, Many thanks to Bazza for the sandwiches

Limeburners 3 Stout House F 2
Chip Sawyer 6790 Colin Bolton 2320 Rick Dewdney 10510 Stuart Hope 920 Brian Goodchild 1400 Grant Hope 5120 Mark Davies 1320 Dave Simmons 4400 Bill Hammond 2320 Grant Hope 800 (4PR)
Game 1: Colin started well, 2k in front. Chip pulled level midway, then played table out for 4k3 Game 2: Dude on form tonight wish a 6k and 4k. Not much Pops could do... Game 3: Superb performance from Grant, kept Brian off the table. Game 4: Dave started with 3k then fizzled. Too much though for an unlucky Mark. ' We had a 'Desmond' too.....and we played the 'Joker'......
Game 5: With Scott off tonight with a dose of 'Manflu', we had run out of Hopes so re-used an earlier one under the 4-player rule. It appears we may have re-used the wrong one.... Pops having stood and watched for 20 mins and Grant having played a blinder earlier, forgot to save some shots for this one. Billy Onions keeping far enough ahead for the deciding point.
Lots of amusing chat tonight and enough tasty food to feed an army.....including Billy's trademark onions.

Blue Ship 3 Springbok Club 2
S Bailey 1850 G Marshall 2090 A game that saw chances for both players come and go. Neither Simon or Gaz got to grips with the table, but it was an exciting finish with Simon needing the 200 hole to snatch victory only to leave it short for Gaz to secure the point.
D Johnson 480 R Burgess 7750 Rob shot off from the start leaving Ding everything to do. Though she tried ding just did not get the rub of the green and Rob's calmness saw him put decent breaks together.
M Johnson 5440 T Goacher 1680 I flew out of the blocks, accumulated a load of points and then lost them all!! Mick takes no prisoners and set about causing further pain by putting decent breaks together. I tried to recover, but simply not enough time.
J Childs 3810 B Hicks 2310 A decent game with both James and Bill nipping at each others heals. James knowledge of the table probably won through in the end, but Bill was a worthy opponent.
S Holder 8490 B Hicks 640(4 player rule) One way traffic this one with Steve flying off from the break and never looking back. Bill was not given a chance to rediscover his form from the previous game and could only watch in wonder, along with the rest of us.
A fantastic night filled with laughter and a lot of mickey taking, all in good spirits I add. Lovely Chicken Korma to round of a very pleasant night.
