Some very interesting games. Ian left a ball touching the left hand white peg. The peg had rocked but stood up. Not possible to split? Ian played off the back and missed, thus losing a 10k opening break. Bob went on, attempted to split the ball Ian left, crashed it into the peg, which moved two inches but stood up. Nip and tuck 'till the end , Ian went for the 200 and pegged. In his second game Ian was chasing down Bob's lead and needed to go behind the black to win. He was very close but pegged, again. Colin played very well both games. Very good to see Robin again after such a long time. Very convivial evening

Got a phone call at 6.30pm to say that there was beer all over the baulk end table - great! Much ironing and mopping later, I got something that was just about playable. On investigation I deduced that someone had knocked over a drink on the table and then put the cover back on......arrrrggghhhhh! Because one side of the table was faster than the other, the table was very poor and I apologise to our visitors for that. Turb went behind the black to win his first against Andrew after a dire game and the night continued like that with the table improving slowly with play. A good night socially as ever but to cap it all we had NO CHIPS with our sarnies!
