To put a bit more flesh on the bone - match played a week early at the Albion's request.
Swan Nomads 3 - 2 Albion 'C'
Barney* 10100 280 Michelle Baden Nick 2270 11060 Nigel Senior* Neil 5490 4220 Matt Knight* Gary* 8090 540 Chris Tupper Tone 2740 6170 Jean Brackenridge*
Barney 8650 and touch, added a few more later
Nigel 10270 and touch, added a few and Nick finished off
Pivotal game - Matt opened with 2.5k, I responded with just over 3.5k. Bits and pieces as the balls went awkward. I made a potentially fatal mistake of moving a tricky one and Matt almost cleaned up but failed to clear the last one. I thankfully did, added 1.5k and touched with no time left. Matt managed a quick 1k.
Gary with several smallish breaks and seeming to clear the table at each visit built a useful lead, Tupps with nothing going for him. At last a 4k break gave Gary the win and a good score.
Jean with a small opening break and Tone actually took the lead at one point. Several visits each before Jean killed the game with a 4k break at the end.
Although we haven't won many matches, we have managed to beat both Albion teams! Think the White Hart owe us a drink.

Firstly thank you to the Smugglers for moving the fixture forward and for a good night, games a bit scrappy and tense, nice sausage and potato dauphonaise to finish Ted opened with 2k Steve could not get them back straight away but was first to do so and missed 50/10 split, Ted lost 2k, Steve got them back put one up behind, Ted made sure. Dave left first one up woefully short, Pete did well to work them into position but did not get the break back, Dave added 2k, Pete 2 breaks to put him in front and although Dave got them back ran out of time. Steve off early, Mal going well at 5k but got a kick but kept the break, Steve got them back off at 3k Mal made sure. Andy opened with 3k, TJ got to 6.7k and spun 50/10 split, the 10 dropping and the red going into the dead middle of table 2 inches up from back of 200 hole, hit it and sunk cue ball at top of the table, split next shot up table nothing went down, Andy balls back 3.8k down 4 minutes left. Came off 1k short just about a minute left, TJ made sure. Chris off early, and no matter what Rick did could not get them back, Chris built 2.5k lead, Rick got them back but the one up tettered on the edge of the hole, Chris kept his lead throughout. Good win for us giving all the breaks away.

A good win for the visitors who took advantage of the chances that they were given on a good table. Nice selection of fresh rolls, Doritos with a lovely spicy dip. Enjoyable evening in good company. High Break - Jim Millward (10,260)
