The Maurice Oliver Triples - Saturday 3rd June. 10.30am registration for 11.00 start.
This is a fun competition, for Redhill League members and a limited number of special guests. Following the sad closure of the Limes the competition has now been switched to the SALFORDS CLUB (= same venue at which the Open is held)
For the random Draw beforehand every name goes into a hat for either Pool A, Pool B or Pool C dependent on skill level. Each of the Triples thus drawn at random is put into one of three or four groups, and you play against the other 3 triples in your group, then there's quarterfinals, semifinals and the grand Final. And of course a Plate competition.
The C-rated player in the combi has 1st break in first prelim game, the B player first go in the 2nd game and the A player goes first in the 3rd game. At all times 3000 is the maximum break, if you go over you not only lose the break but have to wear a dunce's/jester's/donkey/clown's hat until someone else does similar or has a black peg to take it off you.
Always a great day with plenty of banter.....
Colin Robbins has asked me to publicise this event, and as of today there are still 10 slots left to make up the desired lineup of 16 triples - available to anyone interested (you don't have to belong to Redhill !) You can notify your interest on here - but please follow up by phoning Colin who is maintaining the list of competitors. (You may PM me for his mobile number.)

A very enjoyable and well run day at Salfords yesterday, a full house of 16 teams taking part in 4 groups giving us plenty of close games, much laughter and friendly banter during the course of the day. Many thanks to my partners Marion Wraight and Mark Fraser who both played superbly all day to take us to the title beating Yvonne, Alex & Ian in the final, to Salfords Club for hosting the day, Colin Robbins for his usual great selection of food and to everyone involved in organising and running the event.
