Albion Fishersgate C 4-1 Smugglers B **Matt 8460 - 1970 Bob - pretty shocking performance from me but I did manage to get the break back plenty of times which was the difference as Bob had no luck and only got it back with a few minutes to go Nigel 10,080 - 4660 Colin** - Col about 2k first break, Nigel got them straight back and made 5k, was then next to get them back and that was that Jean 6420 - 1100 Dave** - Dave off early, Jean excellent 5k break, rest of the leg at the top end of the table, Whitey not at his best tonight **Michelle 1850 - 6810 Ros - Michelle off early, Ros excellent 6330 (new ladies high break) (and properly "recorded") but she definitely could have got a few more, decided to touch up and take the leg for the visitors Tupps 5280 - 1010 Phil** - Ozzie off early, Tupps built a near 4k lead, Phil balls back and going well close to being level when ball went awkward and he pegged next shot meaning Tupps continued excellent Worthing form Good win for the hosts tonight, enjoyable evening in good company Everyone will be pleased to hear that Jean managed to behave herself tonight (just) and I was saved a trip to McDonalds afterwards Table played pretty well as we did a bit of work on it....trouble is captain was a bit unsure which way to turn the old legs.......

Result of the re-arranged match that was played tonight.... Home | Team | Swan A | v | Marquis of Granby | Away | Team |
---|
Legs | Score | Player | v | Player | Score | Legs | | | | | | | | 1 | 8,960 | Barry Holt * | v | Grant Tully | 3,380 | 0 | 0 | 1,220 | Colin Green | v | Dave Ingram * | 10,670 | 1 | 0 | 1,230 | Brian Richards | v | Gareth Lloyd * | 13,310 | 1 | 1 | 8,210 | Roger Taylor * | v | Kevin Hall | 2,640 | 0 | 1 | 7,590 | Doug Mahy | v | Jim Millward * | 4,740 | 0 | | | | | | | | 3 | 27,210 | Totals | v | Totals | 34,740 | 2 |
Probably fair to say that the balls favored the home team on a few occasions, especially in the last game when Jim had a ball move on the D just as he played a split shot when looking well set to make a decisive opening break leaving us struggling in the relegation battle near the bottom of the table.... Enjoyable evening in good company, the usual spread of sandwiches quickly destroyed.
