[revised 15/11/17 to take account of one player visiting Oz for 3 weeks and Limeburners holding a function on 19th Dec.]
Ben Procter/Dick Cable (Roffey Club Y) 2 Jim Greensted/Clive Thompson (Windmill GG) 1 at ROFFEY CC We threw it away with an 'oh bugger" moment in the decider. Anyway, best of luck to Ben and Dick in the Semi-final, and many thanks to Rick Langridge for scoring.
Plus, received from Derek Taylor:
Pete and myself beat Dave and Noggs Regards
,,,and, received from Steve Vizor:
Mark and myself beat Keith and Geoff 2-1 . Cheers Steve
The Plough lads won the first 4k to 1k with Chelsea's two breaks more than enough, but Steve started the second with 6k then added another 4k.
To the decider. Chelsea started with 1k and I only responded with 2k. The Plough lads then fought back while myself and Steve couldn't pot a thing. The bar dropped with Dave on the table but he came off with four balls remaining and 240pts in front. Steve then got three of them down and the 200 at the first attempt to give us a lucky win 2640-2620.

A reminder that HDBBL Rules 26 and 28 apply to this competition:
26. Competition matches will be the best of three games. The player/pair who wins the toss shall have the choice of break in either the first or second game. In the event of a third game both players/pairs will have the break and will toss again for the choice of first or second break.
In Doubles matches the player who takes the first shot for their pair in the first game shall take the last shot for their pair in the second game, meaning that the order of play shall be A-B-C-D in game 1 and D-C-B-A in game 2. In the event of a 3rd game the players who did not take break for the pair in the first two games shall take the breaks.
28. Should the first player in any deciding Cup game have played out more than half the time allotted, and his opponent’s opening break is still in progress when the bar drops, further coins may be inserted in an attempt to reach the target. However, the time allotted will not exceed the first player’s share and as soon as the second player’s break ends, the game shall cease.
A good night with plenty of banter for our doubles semi final game at the Roffey Cricket Club. Both games were fairly close with no big scores, 2kish at best. Best shot of note was Iain playing off a ball into the right hand 30, not realising the object ball which had been level with the black peg, caused the cue ball to head straight into the 200! He was so focused on the 30 shot he didn't even see the ball drop straight into the 200. We were pissing ourselves. Lol Thanks to Dick and Ben for the game and Lee for scoring. Thanks to the supporters too. Rob & Iain 2 - 0 Dick & Ben.
Congrats to Sammy and Iain and also to Stu and Hoppo who make it an all- Roffey H final.
Stuart Carruthers/Stephen Hopkins (Roffey Club H) 2 Steve Vizor/Mark Webber (Plough) 0
Hoppo made most of the running in leg 1, Mark one decent break but not enough. Plough looked they were going to level after a well-crafted 3k break by Steve V mid way through, but Stu denied them with a play-out to the finish.
