Smugglers B 3-2 Albion C **Dave 6860 - 1070 Matt Bob 3840 - 7710 Tupps** Ros 3960 - 1270 Michelle** **Phil 10,430 - 540 Nigel Colin 1860 - 8400 Jean** Well done to the hosts on their win tonight. Breaks of 7.6k from Tupps, Jean with 6890 and 9k from Phil O the highlights on the table. Off the table the entertainment came from Ros, who took on some local nutter who seemed intent on being as awkward as possible. I think the van to take her (not Ros) away must have got lost en route to the Smugglers which was a shame

Alexandra B | 18-Jan | | Smugglers A | |
---|
Rick Cunningham * | 980 | 3920 | Chris Lucas | | Joe Oakley | 5500 | 2990 | Andy Farmer Wright * | | Mal Spier | 4690 | 2110 | Steve Hurley * | | Tony Jenner * | 9840 | 1930 | Dave Jones | | Steve Aylmore | 3100 | 4410 | Ted Stringer * | | 3 | 24110 | 15360 | 2 | 39470 |
Rick pegged an opening 2.5k break when he spun the 100 on the split, Chris built a 1.5k lead and added to that with 2 breaks whilst Rick could not get the break back. Andy left his first one up short, Joe lost 2k when he spun the 100 on the split, pegged and gave the break back, Andy built 2k lead, Joe then touched on 5k to make sure. Steve opened with 1.2k, Mal got level, and then built 2k lead which he maintained throughout. Tony opened with steady 8960 and touch leaving Dave only 7 minutes, so a good win for the home team. Ted and Steve had a very good game, Ted scoring well on the break each time he got it back, Steve played well but struggled with the one up leaving it short 3 times. A good evening with the Smugglers as always, table certainly there but concentration needed and everyone except Rick did get the break back at some stage.

Plenty of chances for all in 5 scrappy games, the balls seemed to be ending up in all sorts of unusual and unpleasant places in every game but the home team grateful to fall over the line for the win. Good company and plenty of laughs with a tasty chicken curry with chips which was perfect on a chilly evening. A big THANK YOU to Boball who not only acted as taxi service for some of our players but also scored all 5 games for us!
