Worthing A 2-5 Brighton A **Martin Smith 12,560 - 210 Chris Tupper Stuart Mepham 150 - 16,420 Nigel Senior** Gerry Fitzjohn 5400 - 9690 Jim Millward** **Joe Oakley 11,190 - 2710 Phil Osborne Kevin Tunstall 5770 - 9410 Kevin Hall** Terry Molloy 500 - 16,240 Bob Hall** **Mike Daw 2900 - 10,030 Matthew Knight A brilliant performance saw Brighton A crowned as the Home and Away Inter-League champions for this season. A high-quality match saw Brighton win after their 4 break players went off with enough, excellent breaks from all 4 players with special mentions to the Hall brothers winning 2 very tough matches, Kevin beating Kevin T for the second time this season and Bob sealing the title with a great opener in leg 6 with all the pressure. It looked very possible that all 7 players would go off with enough with their opening breaks as both Martin and Joe made excellent breaks for Worthing A. Not to be however, as Mike pegged his opener leaving the transport/admin manager the chance to extend the victory margin, also managing to go off with enough first time. Well done to Captain Senior for leading the team and making the right choices, victory obtained despite losing two of the team for a number of matches during the season, for somewhat different reasons Thanks to our opponents for making it a good night, plenty of raucous celebrations, loud music from the jukebox and a late night at the bar.

Congratulations to Brighton A on winning the title this year. As Matthew stated, the first 6 games all went with opening breaks, not a lot we could do about the end result. Thanks to the Henty for being such great hosts for us. Back to Sunday's from now on, we missed the bingo lol

I would just like to thank all my team for a great effort in this year’s inter league. It is a great achievement to win this given all the strong sides that take part. Hard luck to Worthing – their two losses to us were by the narrowest of margins with so many games being killed first visit.
Just to show how tough this league is that before last night we won our last 5 games 4-3 with all of them going to deciding legs. So although we have won 9 matches every team we have faced has taken us to 3-3 in one of the matches. This really is the best team competition I play in.
There a certainly a couple of matches that will live long in the memory – the Osbornes (plus Knight) performance to get us the win at Tunbridge Wells with 6 players. Me beating Joe in the decider with one eye to beat Worthing A at home, the fightback from 3-1 down against Brighton B to let a fuming Matt Knight off the hook after his loss put us 2 down and then of course last night where our 4 break players held their nerve to win at the Henty not offering a chance in any of the 4 games.
Kev Hall has been a revelation this season getting him back up from the B team I have given him massive break games and he has always come good including 2 wins over KT. Bob Hall was brilliant last night after I told him he would love the table! Phil O and Matt have both won vital games through the season (often against the break). Jim M always a great big match player as proved last night despite still recovering from injury. And got to mention Tupps – a great team player and never ever complains about playing against the break often against their best player. As Matt says we have had some challenges with players being out so also massive thanks to Steve Mariner, Grant Tully and Bob Osborne who filled in during the season
Lets go for 10 out of 10 when we play our last game v Tunbridge Wells :)

The newly moved table proving tricky but meant all games were close. As always a good fun night with the Littlehampton team. Apologies to them that we only had six players so John Dynes didn't get a game.
