The Committee have decided via a Virtual Meeting to close this years Season at week 21 of 28.
This is a convenient point as all teams have played the same number of matches so the 4th quarter has been cancelled.
A copy of the message sent to the League is below.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE ROFFEY Y Team
and the Roffey H team as 'Runners-up'
It is with mixed emotions that I have to inform you all that the Committee has decided to finalise the 2019-20 season regarding the League Home & Away matches only, as at week 21, this is because it is unrealistic to think that we could fit in 7 weeks of matches before the normal start of the 2020-21 season in September.
Despite the uncertainties around the Covid19 pandemic we want to wait and see if somehow we might be able to play some of the other Competitions at some point in the future, even though that seems highly unlikely from the current situation and assumed continuing risks.
Please take great care of yourselves and loved ones.
Graham (Chairman)
Following yesterdays announcement from Graham I would like to update you all on where we stand as a League during the current situation.
The decision to call a halt to the League programme was a whole committee decision based on the fact that at this point all teams had played the same number of matches as we had completed 3 parts of the season. It would be difficult to see any point in trying to continuing.
We remain hopeful that we will be in a position to complete the competitions and have chosen to postpone them rather than cancel at this stage.
It remains to be seen if we will be able to stage a Masters competition & hold a Finals Night.
We have a plan in place for the Team Cup Semi Finals & Finals.
This years King & Barnes Summer Doubles competition has been deferred to 2021.
I have attached the Final League Table, Masters List & Best Performance table
Congratulations go to Stuart Carruthers who tops both the Master & Best Performance with some incredible stats.
Congratulations to Gareth Lloyd on gaining the Men's High Break & Score & Ros Appleby for the Ladies Break & Score.
We will keep you updated as time goes by in the meantime Stay Safe.
Regards.
