The League Cup competition starts on 10 Jan and runs until 14 Feb - fixtures are now available on the league website. Each team will play four matches, two at home and two away. Full details can be found here.

A couple of quick suggestions for the committee to consider when looking at the format for the League Cup this season...
1. If games are going to be played over 6 legs (as they have at times in the past) the home team should have breaks 1,3 & 5 and away teams 2,4 & 6. (I feel the home team already have the advantage of being able to practice on the table so away team should have the chance to watch the opening break by a home player).
2. If handicaps are being used, then some restriction on maximum break allowed could also be added. This worked very well in the Brighton summer cup) where a break limit of 4,000 was used and resulted in a lot of close matches. It also means plenty of visits to the table for both players during a game and avoids the possibility of a good player simply staying on the table and giving their opponent no chance or time on the table.
Since some tables seem to be much higher scoring than others, some form of table handicap could also be considered, especially if player handicaps are being used?
Looking forward to playing this, no matter what format is decided. 😎
