We are very aware that teams are experiencing cases of COVID and this is leading to teams struggling to fulfil fixtures but have decided the league will continue and that teams will be able to cancel games as necessary. There are two scheduled weeks of games before Christmas on the 9th and 16th of December 2021. If games are cancelled please let your landlords know and also please make them aware if there is a rescheduled game going to be played.
The decision was taken that the 4 player rule can be used at all times by all teams until further notice (we are aware this contravenes league rules but think it is prudent to allow this due to the situation with COVID cases.)
The Quiz scheduled for the 2nd of December 2021 has been cancelled giving another night to play postponed games.
For now the Chairmans Cup has been postponed meaning there is another spare night on January 6th 2022 to play postponed games.
The Competition draw has been delayed until the New Year as the number of entries are such that we can play these in 2022, this means there is another spare night on the 23rd December 2021.

Thanks TJ for posting this. I will add regarding the 4 player rule, if you continue to use this because it is necessary, then make sure you use the players that haven’t played a double game first, this should eliminate any conspiracies with top players keep doubling up Thankyou

My understanding is that when a player is required to play twice under the 4 player rule, their name must be drawn randomly from the players who have already played in the match. If that is the case, it isn't possible to manage who gets to play the extra game. Has this changed?
N.B. I wholeheartedly support any measures or rule easements implemented by the league at this time. Of paramount importance must be the health and safety of our members, everything else is secondary.

Hi Mark When we first used the 4 player rule in Redhill and Billingshurst the initial use all players Names were put down and a free draw was made. On subsequent occasions opposing captain's would say if someone had played twice and were ommitted from the draw. Obviously once all players had been exhausted it reverted Back to all in. Obviously captain's honesty was paramount. Hope this may help.

Hi Mark, it is as John says, we are reliant on captains honesty to a degree. So far this season, myself and Molly have been drawn out to play twice, if it happened again then it would be between Chocie, Mike, Lorin, Stu C or Gareth, whoever is there on the night.

Understood now. If I have to use the rule more than once, I’ll ensure that previously-selected players are omitted from the draw. Thanks both for clarifying.
