Hi all With the final week of league games to be played tues the A league and B league have still to be decided. In the A league it is mvc b's title to lose and 4pts would be Enough to see them champs. Spçc a are guaranteed runner up slot. The B league is still a 3 horse race mvc a in the driving seat but the two other contenders Old oak and Salfords B play each other and a big win either way if mvc slip Up could see one of them take the title. Watch this space.

Nomads 4-1 Salfords A
JP* 1700-100 Vince Abbey 1470-100 *Sheila Jim 2030-2440 *Trevor Michael 5320-510 *Teri Joe 6410-2290 *Zoe
With the Nomads all but certain to be relegated to the B-League this game was purely for pride.
First up JP went of a a 1k break but thereafter struggled prefusely. Vince was consistently able to knock balls in the back but never quite got the break back. It got to the stage that Vince had drawn level with just two balls left, however the object ball was ominously situated behind the 10. Sadly for Vince he nudged the black peg in trying to hit it, giving the Nomads a 1-0 lead.
Second on the baize was Sheila and Abbey. This match was highly scrappy but Abbey was able to make more of her chances to lead comfortably before Shelia followed Vince's lead by demolishing the black peg followed by taking the 100 shot.
Next up Jim converted his excellent practice form into the usual misses in the game proper. It's fair to say Trevor wasn't in vintage form but he did enough to chaulk up Salfords first win of the night.
Next up was the Reg Stone semi-final pairing and it was Teri who held the lead for a large portion of the match, but Michael eventually finding some rhythm towards the end to play the last few minutes out for 3k.
The final leg was a rematch for Joe and Zoe who played out an epic encounter which ended in Zoe getting the 200 to win. This time around Zoe went 1.5k up and Joe managed to score 30 points from his first five visits to the table! But after that an excellent clear followed and became a break of 2,740 to put him in control. Then the battle of who could get the break back followed and it was Joe who was the successor. He added 2,470 to make an insurmountable lead and confirm the final frame would go the Nomads way.
So an enjoyable evening with a mix of games. The table wasn't playing as nicely as in previous week's but with the league season now over that won't worry the Division B bound Nomads.

Reigate Ex 1 SPCCA B 4
Good win to secure 3rd with a game to spare, game of the night was the 1st, Ian Davies with the break amassed a 9400 break, almost played the table out, missing with just two balls left, I missed those and finished on 0 for the second week running, I hate this game sometimes.

Just to rub salt into the wounds, your great win on Thursday over Gary Powell in the postponed match from 8th March has been accredited on the website to Martin Greenway instead of to your goodself ! [Edit 25/4/22: since corrected]
