Excellent day of bar billiards yesterday at the Stags Head. High standard on tables that were very playable but gave different challenges tot hose concerned. Well done to Jim Millward on winning the main competition beating Ian Lelliott in the final. Phil Osborne won the plate beating Chris Cox in the final. I personally had a great weekend but a shame that the real Tony Jenner only turned up for one frame over the whole weekend (sorry Matt).
Thank you to all that helped get the weekend all set up and to those who did the admin. Very well run and I enjoy the venue and the hosts Heather and Jim make us so welcome. It was good to see Steve Mariner playing and as would be expected after at least 3 years scoring a 20k break.

Echo TJ's comments and thanks to him and Bob Osborne for the incredible amount of scoring they did over the weekend, much appreciated
Jim continued his incredible record winning his 7th title, narrowly denying Ian in his quest to retain the title. Considering Ian has not played for sometime he performed brilliantly over the weekend. Well done to both players on their performances
Well done to both Phil Osborne and Chris Cox who made the plate final, Phil was a little behind with his break to come but made a nice opening break in the second leg which secured victory
Losing semi-finalists in the main competition were Stuart Mepham and Alan Brackenridge, Matt Knight and Dave Reeves were losing semi-finalists in the plate
Group winners were Jim Balchin, Ian Lelliott, Nigel Senior and Jim Millward
As TJ said good to see Steve Mariner back playing and he took the high break cash making 21,590
Thank you to Martin Cole and Stuart Mepham for providing the additional tables and for all Stuart's hard work in moving and setting up the tables, thank you to Alan and Jean Brackenridge for supplying additional lights and to Alan for his help with the tables too. It is a little tight for room but with Jim's amazing efforts and hard work it worked out pretty well in the end! I really appreciated the help of Chris Cox and James Whittle helping to move tables at the end of a long day. Not much mention is made about the work done on formats and keeping a close eye that tables are fairly allocated so thank you to Nigel for that, not only over this weekend but many other tournaments too. I hope everyone had an enjoyable day
