Due to unforeseen circumstances, Northants C were withdrawn from the main competition.

Oxford A win on aggregate 59,300 - 55,490 Few nervy moments all night. With Oxford up by 5,310 going into the last leg, Den was off on 840. Dennis got them back and played well to get 6.2k but Den managed to get them back and get a 4k break to seal the win on agg. Well done team

Is this the 'Inter Area Association' that we have a separate board for please? Is it now 'Oxford Inter Area'? if so I will rearrange the boards.

No Sav. The Inter Area board is for all members. Mark was simply telling Oxford members how they got on in the final. Stephen Coleman is the Inter Area sec.

Hi Mark Well done on your inter area win against Reading. What a tense amazing night it must have been going right down to the wire. Last break of the night sealing it. Looking at your leg a win against a legend of bar Billiards so great to See Bernie still giving it a good go. Took me back a tidy few years when I played against Bernie and Lew.

Mark Break 12,230, Stephen Break 6,370 Some good games last night. Dennis was certainly a game of 1st games nerves as needed a couple of goes to win the game. In the second, Simon was off early but was first to get them back and was going along nicely before coming off. I then got them back and finished it off with my break of 12k. Jason was off early and after a battle at the bottom end, leon got them back and got a lead before Jason got them back and a 3k break at the end won it. Ian also off early and Stephen played well for his break. Ian got them back and had time to catch but was off again. Stephen then got another 4k to finish. Damo as all others before him was off early but first to get them back, got a 4k break. Ian then had them back but missed early, Damo getting another 4k to seal the win, with Ian finishing it off with 4k of his own. Certainly a match with plenty of chances for either players to win all games. Return leg provisionally scheduled for Monday 19th Dec

Second leg played last night and it was a great match again. After two good home wins in the first putting Northants 5-2 up overall and having never lost a home match, it was looking onimous for Oxford..... Simon going off with 7k, Steven getting them back with justenough time but unfortunately takinga peg out early. Simon then finishing it off for a good score. Dennis off early with Jason then building a good lead. Then Jason losing a bit of a break. Leon started of well with over 2k but lost them in unfortunate circumstances, similar to Steven. Leon first to get them back and neary finished it off with over 12k Andy went off well and didnt look like missing until he left his 1-up short on over 3k. I got them straight back and alost finished it with over 13k. This left Northants 5-4 up but Oxford up on agg, so a straight shoot out..... Fair to say thiswas a nervy affair with both players having the break back a couple of times. Ian building a lead with Stephen chasing but took a peg out when close. Ian got a bit more to finish it off. Overall a high quality final and shame there had to be a loser. Well done to the Oxford team and commiserations to Northants.
