Blue Anchor 5-0 New Oak A **Rick Cunningham 10,440 - 770 Bob Osborne - went for Rick first this week due to his excellent form on the table. Off on 1k and I was having some regrets! Bob missed both balls on the split when he got them back, Rick no mistakes second time with an excellent 9k to give us the lead. He even had time to lose 3k later on Chris Cox 8780 - 2200 Ian Lelliott** - I think it is fair to say (and charitable) that Ian was not at his best tonight, he had 2 breaks before Chris got them back and struggled to make 2k, including putting the one up behind (which he also did later). Apart from a rank (yes rank) bad shot the first try to get them back Coxy in awesome form with a faultless 8.5 and touch to put us in the driving seat Tony Jenner 6220 - 6120 Marcus Chipman** - As we know from Nigel's excellent reports he has a very occasional dig at Chippers but he did not deserve any digs tonight as he put out of his mind what his team mates had done before and went off with a very solid 5.8k before leaving the one up hanging over the 50 pocket. It proved very costly as, after a bit of mucking about at the top TJ got them back with less than 5 and half minutes to go and made a quite superb 6k break to win, keeping his head despite being tight for time. No idea how he managed to work everything out so quickly but he knew he needed the 100 to win and sunk it first time to give us an unassailable lead - great leg **Joe Oakley 10,670 - 7650 Nigel Senior - very high quality leg, Joe making his score and touch, Nigel getting them back and playing out to the bar for his score Matthew Knight 9090 - 5420 Phil Osborne** - Phil going ok but left a one-up short, I got them straight back and made enough first visit Excellent win for the hosts, definitely surprised at the score line but really it could hardly have been a better performance, helped by an extremely good table. Thank you to our opponents for contributing to a very good night and providing excellent company We are top of the league at the halfway stage of the season and at Christmas......

Great evening in good company, plenty of banter and felt for Marcus as he had me all ends up until leaving the one up short but pleased with keeping my head to get over the line. Not bad with two of our team and one of the opposition struggling with coughs and colds. One of those nights where it went our way and we all took our chances.
Last league game before Xmas so a good way to finish 2022
