I was very sorry to hear that Gary Evans passed away earlier today, I knew that he had not been well for quite a while although he never complained about it. A former team mate of mine in Littlehampton league and a long term player in West Sussex, I can honestly say that he was one of the nicest people that I have ever met and I am very glad that I was able to see him over in Jersey last month and spend a bit of time with him there. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this time. RIP Gary, you will be missed by all of us.

news always had time for you, great sense of humour and a true gentleman who will be missed. Yes was good he made Jersey despite being ill and was great to catch up. A tough opponent but a sportsman. RIP Gary. Condolences to Gary`s friends and family

I too was sad to hear about the passing of Gary. I first met Gary after a he made a 'phone call and asked me could he play in the LBBL and was there a team he could play for. I immediately suggested he joined our team which was the Dolphin B at that time. I am glad he did as he was an asset to us, won many more games than he lost and he always played with that sporting competitiveness and gave his best. Winning or losing he never complained. The other players at the time were Hayley, Marky Brown and the Coach and along with Gary it made for a highly spirited side, full of banter and made for a good night out.
Our most sincere condolences to Gary's family from the former Dolphin B team and all of us at the LBBL.
I was going to finish by saying RIP but that probably seems unlikely as I reckon you are bound to meet up with the Coach at some stage.
God bless you Gary.
