Cheers, tommo Hi Clive, Parking is just to the side of the building (Other side to the train station). There should be ample parking as you can use the spaces allocated for the carpet shop next door. I will find out tonight what options there are just in case it gets full. Hot and cold food will be available, i cannot remember exactly what they said they could provide but i know there will be things like sausage/bacon baps to start and some kind of sausage/chips or a chilli for a lunchtime.

Congrats to Martin Cole on winning yesterday beating myself in the final. The match could have gone either way on a tricky top with Martin losing a couple of breaks in the first leg and then myself losing what might have been a winning break in the second. Losing semi finalists were John Slee and Matt Jones. In the Plate final, Curt beat Alan Donovan. Thanks to all the organisers and well done to Traff on putting draw sheets up for a change 😂😂😂

Echoing KT's comments, well done to the prizewinners and a big thank you to Milhouse (Mark T) for organising an enjoyable event. The new venue was comfortable enough, although huge scores were not the order of the day, each table throwing up a 'different challemge'. Catering was reasonable - £2.50 for a BLT baguette - you can't say fairer than that! It was good to see two ladies in the Last 16: tragically Pauline Withey losing a close match with Simon Coleman on the last ball, but Jenny Florey making it to the Quarter-final before losing to my old mucker John Slee.

Hi all Great day at Didcot on Sunday as already posted. A big thankyou to Mark and all the Oxford boys and girls for all their efforts in staging The open. Not always easy at a new venue but club was lovely and bar ladies great. Its always difficult to get all tables perfect as we well Know and they all provided three own challenges. Congratulations to all the winners. Scoring the final it could have gone either way. On a personal note I was chuffed to make an open singles Semi final a pb for me. Thanks and roll on Bucks.

Hi Everyone, Sorry for the late report but its been a hectic few days!
Congratulations to Martin & Curt for their wins and to Matt & Pauline for their high breaks.
Thanks go to Ian Gordon & Keith Hollis for their help in getting the tables in on the Friday and setting them up on what turned out to be a very uneven floor! This proved tricky in setting up some of the tables! Apart from one, they were all there, you just had to work a bit harder than usual to make big breaks!
Any feedback on the new venue from anyone will be appreciated.
From my point of view, the club couldn't have been more helpful. They were very apologetic about not being able to provide any hot food as the lady who was going to be doing it called in sick with covid on Friday afternoon! First thing the steward asked on Friday was if we were doing a raffle, then came along with a bottle of vodka & whisky!
Thanks to everyone who entered, 57 is a good number to have with declining numbers over the past few years. 12 up on last year!
