Master Mariner 1-4 Blue Anchor
**Steve Burns 1280 - 9480 Matthew Knight **Darren Robins 2410 - 3540 Chris Cox **Moppy Scott 14,140 - 590 James Whittle **Bob Mechan 680 - 9750 Tony Jenner **DJ Robins 1860 - 6720 Joe Oakley
Excellent win for the visitors taking advantage of the generosity given by our opponents (two of them four-times). Moppy made a very good 8470 break (he definitely could have got more but touched up). Thanks to the Mariner Crew for a very good night and supplying an excellent table

Bevy 2 Oak A 3
Nearly the best comeback of all time. Supersub Martin saved the day. Looking forward to Nigel's report.

Moulscoomb Club 3 - 2 Duke of Wellington
Tim 3350 - 1460 Mike Dave 2390 - 8320 Kevin Colin 4840 - 2420 Tupps Phil 3540 - 3100 Colin Vic 850 - 5620 Dave
Scrappy start for Tim and Mike with lots of chances for both but Tim getting the better of the breaks in the end Dave missed the one up and Kevin took full advantage. Dave did come back but Kevin didn't really let him back completely Colin took full advantage of Tupps knocking over the peg when well in front on his comeback. Table played short which didn't help This was the closest match with Phil starting well, then Colin coming back. Phil got the break back just as the table played short again (luckily for Phil) Vic totally messed up the break and Dave didn't give him a chance after that.
Good evening with good food but a great win for for the MSC. Thanks guys

New Oak A keep applying pressure on the Blue Anchor as super sub Martin foiled the Bevy's comeback winning a tense decider.
Bevy 2 - 3 New Oak A
Brian Muggeridge 1,090* - 7,970 Phil Osborne Kev Stoner 2,910* - 7,470 Nigel Senior Doug Dawson 3,180* - 1,700 Bob Osborne Ellis Candy 4,960* - 1,900 Marc Chipman Ash Edwards 2,660* - 3,950 Martin Smith
The report starts with me getting in the van with me giving Chippers the happy news that I was the new county champion only to get a unimpressed response from Marcus essentially saying I only won it because he wasnt in it......thanks mate, and I am always so nice about him!
In leg 1, Phil went down against Brian. Both off early on opening breaks then Brian down 4 times. Steady stuff followed from Phil and made a decent score of nearly 8k. 0-1
Leg 2, Kev down for the Bevy so I took him on. Kev already making his own problems booking flights and hotel for the Newcastle game not realising it will probably be called off if Newcastle make the Carabao Cup final. More problems for Kev as he was off early, but I didnt capitaise, break 1, one up short, break 2 one up in front, break 3 both balls missed on a 100 split. I think I even heard Knighty say break number 4 when I got the balls back again where I made a cool 3k without getting a 100 split. I still missed on break number 5 but the game was safe. 0-2 and all looking good for the Oak
Leg 3 Doug v Bob, and it was nip and tuck but Doug made the telling breaks to keep the Bevy in the match 1-2
Leg 4 Chippers on now to face Ellis, and after watching my display he said he would be writing the match report. However I dont think he wants to write a report on leg 4. The balls were not finding the holes for Chippers. Ellis, much improved, played a good game and topped scored for the Bevy. There was even a cry of 'shot Ian' from Ash for one of Ellis' shots ...2-2
Leg 5 so to the decider Ash v super sub Martin Smith. Ash, also much improved, started with 3 down one up split (more than myself or the real Sussex Champ Chippers managed). Then he got a bit excited and left the next break shot both balls short. A real tense game followed as Martin couldnt clear the balls and Ash kept his nose in front but couldnt make the most of it when he got on the break. Then 1,200 down and 4 minutes to go Martin got the balls back. He got the first 100 split which was at 100 miles an hour! Martin then made a bit more to get us just over the line...
Good night with Bevy lads, who we will see in the Cup at the Mariner in a weeks time.

The scorecard doesn’t tell the whole story I’m afraid. Games 1 & 3 could have gone either way. In the fourth, Phil built about a 2k lead, then Colin caught up and went about 600 ahead. As he was lining up his one up shot, somebody decided to walk alongside the right hand side of the table, went into the cupboard at the end, a total disregard for the player on the table. Colin stood up as the person was right in his line of sight and waited til he was finished, apparently getting napkins for the food. A good 30 seconds later when realising where he was, he stood back to let Colin continue. Unfortunately Colin’s concentration was completely shot and came off two shots later. Phil was very fortunate to get back on and win the leg and match. Until then, it was a good evening but unfortunately this incident left a bitter taste in the mouth . Just to prove how upset Colin was, he didn’t wait for his lift and walked out
